Probably no more than an hour Morris, hooking up the rest of the linkage a little more and need to add a stabilizer so will have to weld a bracket to the frame..
That`s quick work John, it would likely take me a few days to figure out how to do it. I`m now heading out to the shop to see if I can get the 302 to run right. While it starts and runs nice anything above an idle and it starts to really miss. It won`t rev up much past an idle and it sounds really terrible.
You`re making good progress too Perry, we need pictures of what it looks like when you`re done.
It turned out that it had the wrong distributor in it Perry. We pulled one out of a spare 302 of approximately the same vintage and now the 53 M100 engine runs really nice at all rpm ranges. I`m a very happy camper tonight!!
Enjoy your evening with your daughter and crew,
We wasted time shopping, my wife is heading to the lake tomorrow. Going over to my neighbour`s to help with his fence on his acreage, I own him big time after he straightened out the mess on my 53 resto rod the previous owner did.
After supper I`m picking up a set an old set of Ford truck wheels and tires for my parts truck.
Good evening everyone steering column is moved now have to make a bracket for the stabilizer and patch the hole where the steering column was then onto modifying the inner fender on the drivers side. It all took a little longer than I thought because of tight quarters to drill holes in the toe board. I had to cut my drill bits down to one inch in length and still barely got the drilled...
Now is good time to get fencing done.
Sounds like supper was quite the meal Steve, I`m sure no one went hungry tonight.
That`s a ton of work John, I`m sure you`re glad to get that out of the way. How do you cut a drill bit down without hurting the temper of the steel?
I want to get this fence done so that I can expand the yard and finally get it straightened out, really getting tired of the way it looks. Tomorrow is my changing of the gate day, it looks like I'll need another 18 fence panel boards but I'm going to use the old boards for now, will look funny but at least the foot print will be finished.
No brown beefy beans here tonight but I've got some half price KD and 2.49 a lb. Hamburger screaming to get cooked, might even throw in some mixed frozen veggies.
