Too wet here for any yard work, it`s really nice to have this rain to settle the dust.
Had to make an unexpected trip to town for silicon to re do the tube surround, all three tubes I had at home dried up.
It started to rain at 530 which made for a good quitting time, sure is dry where I put the shed, the sliding glass doors will be well protected as the roof.
When it rains like this I sure get a lot of different birds at the feeder, looked out the window and saw an actual blue Jay, and it wasn't a ball player either.
We usually have grey Jay's but rarely the blue Jays, used to get flocks of starlings in Vancouver, was so bad at times that the city would send out a crew and shoot blanks at them with a 410.
Whiskey Jacks, Blue Jays, Mourning Doves and all sorts of small chickadee sized birds pretty much stand in line in the tree on days like this. I close the front door so the cats can only watch, if a magpie shows up I chase it off.
Lots of eagles, turkey vultures, ravens, crows, sea gulls ( shlt hawks ) and many other small sparrow sized birds. Then there are all the shore type birds too, pelicans ,swans, cranes ,herons ducks and geese all over town...
We used to have hundreds of small birds all the time but the guy behind us cut down all the trees and there doesn't seem to be as many now. we used to put up a feeder but between the squirrels and blue jays was going through too many bags of sunflowers and deer also was attracted to it..
