Now I can't wait to get to 85% so I can try it. I'm at 70, so it should get there this weekend. Boy that's new, me wanting a regen.

Is th engine up to operating temp? What year and trim level do you have...2015 Lariat? Do you have a book titled the Diesel Supplement guide in with your owners manual pack? That is where I found the directions regarding the process.

I have also commanded a regen cycle on my '12 Lariat Ultimate. Just like Frank described.

Good info I may have to add that to my truck now that I see I can do a manual regen. Although lately, I guess I'm lucky but the regens have been happening at the right time. Unlike when I first got the truck they would start 1/2 mile from the house.

So if I understand this right the dealer can add this feature to the truck or you can go on to the website that you mentioned with the laptop and put it into your vehicle yourself

Correct. Sounds like some dealers charge for it, others have done it pro bono.

89lx....I really like the looks of your rig pic. It has the perfect stance, imo.

Yes, mine is a 2015 Lariat. I had just returned from a drive around town and all fluids were at temperature. Water temps was showing 192* on the CTS2. I have read the info a few times about Operator Commanded Regen but that really only pertains to XL and XLT trucks with the option from the factory (not sure if you can add this after truck purchase).

I am not sure what the difference is between the trucks might be. There is another person here who has a 2015 and they can do the manual regen with their Lariat trim level truck.

Will keep tinkering with it and see if I can figure this out. But for now, I will use the CTS2 should I need a manual regen. I have used the CTS2 once to accomplish a manual regen and it worked fine.

I was looking back through some screen shots and noticed this one about the DPT cleaning enable or not. What does your truck show on this screen?

I'm using different software to read the truck modules Larry. We just need to understand he a combination of differnt 'switches' in the modules that need to be enable for this to work. It is possible that some trucks might have modules that others don't or the modules might change a bit for different model years.

Im using Forscan. Not only does it read the modules, with the correct adapter, you can make changes to modules. The most comprehensive information around using Forscan is on a 150 board in the thread:

FORScan - software to enable/disable features in your truck - Ford F150 Forum - Community of Ford Truck Fans

The key for writing changes is having the correct adapter for your truck. The adapter you have now might work. Some others work, but the one that has proven to work for everyone is:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

There are others that some people have gotten to work, but this one works for everyone every time. The fact you can initiate a regents with cts leads me to think you adapter might have complete functionality with Forscan.

Carl, I made the original change with a clone VCM2. I was the one who posted the steps for turning this screen on via the dealer. I have gone back with FORScan and verified it also. I will try to get out today and do some checks.

Copy. It I'm having a hard time keeping track of who posted what where.... I just went back and looked at the change screen thread at:

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...ut-dealer.html

I have confidence we will get it figured out.

Had my truck's screen activated 7-8 months ago and remember the mechanic saying something about being able to activate the cleaning, but he wasn't sure when I could do it.

Last night, drove my truck about 40 miles, was up to operating temperature and brought up the screen and was at 90% full. I didn't have the prompts to run a manual regen. Maybe I needed to wait a bit longer at idle or something, but didn't have the time to do that just then. Mine is a 2016 Lariat and maybe this isn't going to work on my model year?
