Dustin here at the ivory tower just bought a 2016 F150 which has the auto stop/restart. If you are at a light the engine actually turns off, then restarts when you take your foot of the brake.
It has a button on the dash to turn it off. I'd be figuring out a way to permanently disable that garbage.
jeff in case i dont see you before then, can you check your schedule.. i will need a ride to the airport about 12:30pm or so on monday nov. 21st
do you know if you will be around? i would like to leave my truck at your place or somewhere close if i can..
then i will be needing a ride from the airport back to my truck on dec 14th at 12:30 pm or so.. if you or someone else can't do it.. i'm not sure but maybe i can get a taxi to take me where i need to go
You could leave your truck at my place, and I could get you to the airport on Monday 21st. I COULD NOT pick you up on the 14th, I have to work that day. I live just off HWY 125, 2 miles south of HWY 60. @ 7 miles north of Sparta. Let me know if I can help. Monday is one of my normal days off. Bruce
wow.. seems like i should be able to make it to the airport easy enough.... bruce i didn't realize you live right up the road from alan.. i guess if jeff is off i will park at his place (since i have to go there for parts anyway), if not i'll let you know bruce or johnT.. as far as getting back on the 14th i would think someone should be handy.. there are more FTE guys in the springfield area than anywhere i think.. sure is lonely for a ford truck guy down here in my neck of the woods.... ha ha ha
Geez, RC. Just park at the shop and I'll run you up to the airport. It ain't THAT far. You remember where the shop is, right?
..but seriously. The offer is there going or coming. Just call and gimme the time to be there.
I finally got that erector set back together today. That was WAY harder than it should have been. Of course, every part I took out wasn't where it belonged and nothing was bigger than about 6" square. It's hard to put humpty dumpty back together when all the pieces don't look like they even came from the same vehicle. Tomorrow I paint the front clip, then it's on to the bed body and paint work. Three more wrecks waiting to come in. Bambi is making me really busy.
thanks alan.. i was just looking for a way to do this without having to take anyone away from work or have to go too far out of their way.. i did not really want to plug your parking lot up with my pile of junk.. it may run customers off thinking you opened a salvage yard.. ha ha ha .... i still have 4 days to get it set up..

good morning missouri... hope everyone gets to enjoy the nice weather while it lasts...
would that re-start option be set on a timer? and for how long you would you have to sit before it shut the engine down.. would it use more fuel keeping the battery charged using the starter that much.. i guess those engineers and computer techs would have already thought all of that out, because they would know so much more ..

My fear would be that when the battery is getting bad, it could leave you stranded at the stop light, if it used it's last juice to initially start.
Afternoon all. My stupid a$$ lungs tried to shut down on me yesterday so now I'm on steroids and not allowed to go back to the office until next week. So far meds are doing their job well enough that I was able to take advantage of this wonderful weather to cut back the driveway in preparation for a 12' high camper trailer to come home Saturday. Of course, I cheated and put the generator in the back of the truck and used the saws-all and hedge trimmer to make things easier. Now I just got to build up the energy to put all my toys away now.
All that's left is to change the hitch ball out and gather up a few odds and ends and I'll be good to go.
