One of the things I wanted to avoid in this new truck is external "stuff". I am so tired of having wires hanging everywhere, and things sitting the dash, or hanging from the windwhield or rear view mirror. So no external nav, no external screens, everything neat and clean. It's a little more work to get it installed, and a little more to pay, but it is all integrated and neat. And it all works.
Makes sense - maybe I'm just too lazy to do all of the wiring
I understand your point about the wiring. Luckily the rear camera I mentioned has an extremely strong magnetic base and the receiver has a small screen but you are right, I still have to put the screen in a holder designed for a cell phone for a cup holder. But I use mine only 20 days or so a year.
For someone with an F350 without the ultimate tow package, what options do I have for a trailer mount backup camera? I'm thinking either wired system to separate monitor in cab or a wireless system to a separate monitor in cab. Does anyone have a good recommendation on a WIRELESS system that would work on a 34' trailer?

Over on a different set of forums, they tend to recommend the Furrion wireless cameras. There's apparently two different models, one only works in reverse, the other is an 'observation' (or something like that) that works going down the road.
I am still working on fishing wire through front compartment to pinbox. It would be easier if I could figure out how to disassemble the connectors.
It took me about ten minutes. Remove any screws holding the fiberglass. Get a piece of flat bar (I used 1 1/2" aluminum) and slide it between the framing and the fiberglass. Twist the bar so it is vertical which will create a pocket. I slid two pieces of wire along the flat bar until they popped out at the pin box. Wrapped one around each connector and pulled them through. It took a little finagling, but not much. I was prepared for a struggle but it never materialized.
Just completed the install of the trailer camera. Dealer said it was a "dealer installed" option that they would install for me (included in sticker price), but I elected to do the work myself. Not a pretty install, but I didn't want to deal with trying to route the cable internally. The camera has a very clear picture (unlike the wireless camera a buddy has on his RV).
Installed the TPMS module for the hell of it, even though the sensors won't work with my wheels. Valve stem hole in my wheels is about 10mm and the sensors are about 15mm. Guess I'll go with an aftermarket system for that.
I tried to order HC3Z-19G490-J online last night. I ended up ordering from Fairway Ford since they had the best pricing. I got an email from them this morning saying a component was on back order. I called them and Kevin in parts pulled the order up. According to his system Ford is saying the following: "XP Pending design/engineering change, Engineering Change - working to resolve, ETA for customer to be determined". Anyone have any insider info? Should I cancel my order and find another dealer?

Every other dealer should tell you the same thing. That part isn't yet available. Why Ford has that feature in the order process without the part being available is the question everyone is asking.

It took me awhile to figure out that there was no clearance for the plug because of the framing of the frame used on the cedar creek's. I was able to do a workaround that only exposes 20% of the wiring to the outside. While in arizona I bought the larger valve seems then went to discount tire and had them installed. They let me know that they could not inflate to 110 because their compressor only pumps to 80. Pitiful my compressor at home does 125. On trip back to texas and all systems work great!!

So is everyone getting this same response or is it just this dealer? I'm calling around to try and determine that in case no one has an answer here.
The other part of the question is WHAT are they (Ford) re-engineering? Is there issues with the current parts and system?
There are a few guys that expected a different set of cables to come with their 2020 but ended up with a set that appears to match the 2017-2019 feature set. I believe the new part will allow both the 7 pin and the camera/TPMS pin to work in the bed instead of (or in addition to?) the bumper. I have a 2017 so I don't have a full understanding of what changed for 2020.

I had to drill a hole before the crossframe then bring the harness outside then drill another hole to miss the second cross frame. Camera and tpms sensors work great.
