Decisions ........
If I understand the Ford TPMS system, there are concerns about the tires the system will work with - tire pressure and sidewall. And I also understand the Ford TPMS system does NOT provide tire temperatures.
I was thinking of going with the Ford Camera and TPMS but now I'm thinking of going only with the Ford Camera and going with an aftermarket TPMS and tire temperature system as there are a number of highly rated units available. I first need to confirm that the Ford TPMS system will work with the trailer tires on my new 5iver which is not currently located close by. The Ford TPMS system is an additional $260.00 so maybe I'll get the whole enchilada (assuming it'll work with my trailer tires) and wait and see on the aftermarket TPMS/tire temperature system. How important is knowing the trailer tire temperature? I'm in the Phoenix area so heat/temperature is a concern.
According to Levittown Ford Parts website I know the PN for the Genuine Ford Trailer-Mounted Trailer Camera - TPMS is part number LC3Z-1A189-D (their listed price is $563.33).

And according to their website the PN for the Genuine Ford Trailer-Mounted Camera (Camera only) is part number LC3Z-1A189-F (their listed price is $303.92).

Having all the data on the dash screen is handy. I don't need a third party screen or my phone to see tire pressures. Consequently, the Ford trailer TPMS system is handy.
The cameras, I'm less pleased with. The image quality of the camera on the back of my trailer isn't very good. The tailgate camera quality isn't so great either. Not having access to the cameras while moving isn't good. One of these days when I'm bored, I may look into upgrading the camera on the trailer, with the goal of keeping it integrated with the Ford camera system.

Your points make great sense to me, thanks!
I've wavered on the Ford camera because of reported quality issues/concerns. But then I saw what the aftermarket offered (Camera Solutions) for a plug-and-play alternative camera and I'm back looking at the Ford systems.
I would like to be able to view the cameras on demand but spending yet another boat load of $$$ for the NAV-TV and then having to tear apart the dash to install it isn't exciting me right now. Maybe in time but first I need the camera / tpms system
When I got the F-350 DRW I was glad the TPMS was not standard as I used different pressures based on towing and non towing season. You can't change the parameters in the factory system (easily).
I've been using a TST TPMS for 10 1/2 years, on my third version now.
Now I have a 2020 F-450 and I ordered without the TPMS for the above reasons. Even better now since I have sensors I use on two different trailers with widely spaced parameters. 3 trailers of which 2 trailers share the sensors as needed.
And it is my understanding the Ford sensor won't work anyway on my 17.5" 125 psi cold wheels and tires on the RV.

MagicMtnDan - LC3Z-1A189-E - was supposed to be TPMS only kit but mine came with everything including the camera. $385 from Fairway Ford. I got the kit from them - https://www.fairwayfordparts.net/oem...sor-lc3z1a189e

I'd buy it from them in a heartbeat if I knew I could get the whole kit - camera + TPMS - for $385. But their website shows that PN is TPMS only

I am not affiliated with the company. Simply trying to pass the savings and partake in them as well. It all started when I wanted to see the Aux camera that I have mounted on the back of my RV. After much research, I found this product and looked like it will exactly what I need and then some. So I reached out to them and asked if they would be interested in doing a group buy. Below is what they offered. ****Group buy alert *****

Remove the valve core.
Hydraulic "Bead" splitter
Cut the bottom off the old valve stem. I used a sharp chisel being careful not to scratch/gouge the aluminum and cause sealing problems for the new one. Cut 90% of the way through and hang onto the bottom piece when you pull the outer part off (so it doesn't drop into the tire
)
Install the supplied TPMS sensor. You'll need a 12mm deep socket for the outer nut, and a 10mm ignition wrench to hold the sensor while tightening.
Set the tire up on some 4x4 blocking to facilitate seating the bead. Make sure nothing is under the rim itself.
A little soapy water for lubrication
You might have to jump up and down a little on the rim while starting inflation to get the bead to seal, and then you'll get a nice pop around 10psi when the bead seats.
All in all, it took me about 80 minutes to do the 4 trailer tires. It didn't seem like there was a huge difference in weight between the two stems so not going to bother getting the tires re-balanced.
