I'm guessing I didn't get 2 bad sensors in a row, but it does sound like my luck

You can try inspecting the harness with a wiggle test to see if there is an issue with a pin. Check for any corrosion too. The harness isn't dirt cheap but either is 7 qts of ATF and the hour dropping the pan.

I would include the upper section of harness to the PCM.
Mice and other rodents have been known to like the taste
of the Ford wiring. So get a good look about the trans between
the floor and the case. Look for any places what may be rubbing also.

That means either the sensor is open, or much more likely, you have an open circuit anywhere between the PCM and the temp sensor.

Ok, I followed every wire that leaves the transmission and don't see any issues. Any suggestions on where to go from here?

2005 F250 Correct?
Later tonight I'll look up the pinpoint testing and post the PDF for you.
You will need a DMM (Digital Multi Meter) and some long jumper wires.

So according to my brother in law, who is an ase master mechanic, if the sensor is good, and the wiring is good, my only other option is the pcm being bad. This sound terrible, as its $750 from the dealership already programmed. But if it doesn't fox the problem in going to be out a lot of money.
With all that said, I'm concerned that changing the pcm will affect my viper alarm based on a few forum posts I've read. Can anyone confirm this?

I would unclip the connector, blow it out and reconnect. Doesn't take much corrosion to bung things up, especially at the location it is.

Once I get that pdf from Sean, his test and your suggestion will be my first step tomorrow. Thank you
