I know what you mean about slow going. I should have pulled the body panel I been working on. But not having a dent puller or wanting to buy one, I been filling it back in. In hine site if I had pulled the interior panels first and seen that it was double walled not sure I would have ground out all the filler. But it was not a good repair to start with

It is a very big step, but It feels right. I went out with a an old friend I hadnt seen in 7 years, and it felt like I never left. He is excited to have me back, and hes a great friend along with the others I grew up with who really want me back. Work outlook is amazing, and I have options. Hell if it doesnt work out, I can always come back in a year or 2. Save up a ton of capitol, and have a good working space for my projects and flips. If I stay, I have the same space, and I have land to build a nice home on and build my roots.

Hugh, it's been a slow go, but repaired the radiator support.

This Saturday, I was able to start putting it back into the truck
Very nice progress. After I make some quick cash with my customer saturday then I can get the Ford moving down the driveway. Fab the exhaust, finish some odds and ends, and be done.

Thanks Bob !
I am ready to be a normal citizen again, unsure what that is but I will figure it out!! I called my new boss yesterday to tell him we would come by today to bring my tools, I said this is Chief, I mean Stephen. I have been Chief for over 15 years so it's going to be strange going by Stephen again.

Getting ready to take my tool box to my new job, It looks strange in my basement now without that big tool box in there.

I do have USAA, That may be the nickname I have to go by at work if someone wants to get my attention.

My tool box was successfully delivered to my new place of employment!! It rolled off the trailer a heck of alot easier than it took to get it on there. I have to be at Ft Benning tomorrow morning to finish the last 2 appointments and then sign out on terminal leave!!

Six flags is having military appreciation this weekend and we are planning on going. I have to become a productive employee starting on Monday.

Well it's finally official!! I cleared the post this morning, got my DD214 and my letter from the President from the retirement section and then signed out on terminal leave!! I got home and took my uniform off for the last time! Then me and little man took a little nap in the recliner.

I have a few of the 2 different type air connectors. I have a universal connector on my air compressor hose and it connects to either one so I never worried about it at home. The main thing I really use here is my impact anyway.

Im ready to leave now. I got into with my boss, as I do not give a flying **** about them. He gave me a look like I was retarded, Being the head mechanic, and him not knowing a wrench from his ***, questioned my skills. I lost it.

They also skimped on my check, didnt pay me for measuring and setting up 2 jeeps on the frame rack for another employee because he doesnt have the knowledge to run the machine himself.

Also, they went back on their word about what they said with another massive job I have. We got into it this morning too. I have no ****s given, and they have noticed.....

It sounds like you and the owners are both at your wits end. A toxic work environment is never a good thing. It looks like things in Texas are working out so you might not have to deal with it much longer.

I am sure there is some type of pecking system on the floor at Yancey and I don't mind starting on the bottom. I will work hard and prove myself but I don't want to be treated like I am stupid. I bought some new steel toe boots so I am ready to start my new career on Monday!

Going to Six Flags today and then just hang around the house and relaxing tomorrow. A tire on the 79 keeps going flat, hope it's just the valve stem leaking. It's still running great and I will look at the tire issue tomorrow.

I finally bolted the radiator down, we started getting the guagaes inside the truck, I finally found 2 radiator hoses that would work for this thing, and now I need to find my electric fan collection and decide which will be best. Oh I finally found me a correct belt length too, so thats on there. Finish the guages up and Ill start the exhaust tomorrow. I bolted the flanges and collectors to the headers, so now I need to get all my tubing and lay it out and start on the down pipes, mufflers, and yada yada

Im waiting for a customer to come pick up his car and pay me. Made $350 for 4 hours of work, and that includes my parts, and my $45 side job labor. Something about 90s and 80s Hondas, they always hate being taken apart, they fight like mother ****ers.

Jacob, I think it's great to have a talent like you do. You will always land on your feet, and as young as you are, you seem to be level headed. Good luck in Texas, and don't forget to keep in touch.

In other news, I started the radiator support repairs several weeks ago, and got the front end back together again.
