Home ownership work is always so much fun. I had 3 recessed flood light bulbs burn out and I didn't have any extra, went to Home Depot to get some replacements. They don't sell incandescent like that anymore, had to buy LED but they were 6 bucks a bulb. Good thing is they last over 20 years so I should not have to replace them again anytime soon.

I hope to get the new carb on the 79 and get it running this weekend and replace the u- joints on the daughters truck front axle.

IT LIVES !!!!!
Cleaned the fuel tank and installed the new carb and she fired right up, no smoke or craziness. I need to get an air filter and the power steering is low but she finally drove around under her own power!!!! I took her down the road and she ran like a top and the transmission shifted firm. The tires have flat spots from sitting for so long but driveline wise I am good.

Thats great chief. I remember how it was when I had to rebuild some of the top end of Pepe to fix a vacuum leak. He was down for almost 2 months before I could fire him up. It was a great feeling and alot of sweat and grease.

Thanks Axel !!
I would have taken 2 months, She has not run on her own for almost 3 years!!

She sat for almost a year while I was in Afghanistan before I got her to run long enough to put her on a trailer and drag her to north Georgia when we moved up here. She has sat for another year while I was still in Afghanistan and now a year since I have been home. I would turn her over now and then to build oil pressure and I have gotten her to run for a few minutes on and off since then by pouring gas down the carb but nothing like she runs now.

I know I am a bad owner but now I have a renewed passion to get her back up to where she needs to be. Wife is in town and picking me up a radiator cap, air filter and some trans fluid to refill the power steering. Brakes are junk but they have always been pretty bad, guess that's the next thing on my list to work on.

the LED bulb is actually cost effective too and a tad brighter. Ive converted most of my bulbs to LED in the house, instant light, lower electric bill.

I got it running but it still needs work, brakes, rear end rebuilt, needs floor pans on both sides, interior, body work, etc, etc. I'm not going to do a frame off restoration but I want to make it a nice looking and safe driver. I am going to take my time and do it right, it's a play toy right now so I am not in a big rush.

My daughter is excited that I got it running and wants to drive it once since it belonged to her grandfather. He had me drive him to his secret fishing hole and then gave me the keys when we got back and told me it was mine, since he knew he would never drive again. That was about 3 weeks before he passed away.

Must be nice having AC hahaha.

Got some correct things for the Ford, radiator in. No I need the hoses and fab the exhaust, and find the right v-belt. 44-1/4 is what I measured today.

t-minus 6 hours till Im in Texas.

This is an example of why I want out of this shop. Told one boss I was taking off, immediatly wanted to know why. Its not his business. He failed to inform the other boss about the leave, and the other boss was pissed and also pestered me on why. Why is it so much concern, I told them I was moving in my siblings to college since I have triplets.....

It seems like that shop does have too many bosses. I hope it all works out in Texas for ya.

Well the truck sputtered and died in the yard yesterday, It was too hot to mess with yesterday afternoon but I think I might have either a plugged fuel filter somewhere or the fuel pump died. I will check it out today and figure it out.

It does not have many creature comforts like tilt or cruise but it does have AC!! I converted it to R134 about 4 years ago but I have not tried it lately but I am sure it needs a recharge.
