Nope no updates. Just been drivin' it and gettin' it all good and dirty again in the snow!
I have a 3rd brake lite for the cap that I need to wire in. I'll figure that out come spring time. To make the cap more user-friendly I also want to add some more LED lighting to the inside of it and possibly a rack to the top. We'll see what I can get cheap. As far as a rack I started looking at taking a luggage rack off of a junk Explorer or Expedition but the ones I found locally were as much as $100 on Craigslist. That's way more than I'm willing to pay, and usually all they were giving me was just the cross-bars. I can fabricate something by hand for much less $$$.
Jim maybe you should look at some of the local U pull it junkyards. You can get that stuff pretty cheap there. Usually much cheaper than what a private sell would want on C-list or eBay.
Yeah I did think of that Alex. Actually leaning more towards making one myself out PVC piping or maybe some kind of semi-flexible conduit tubing. That way I can build a basket-rack; something that's much more practical than just a set of cross bars. I have a mental image of what I want, it's just a matter of making that a reality and finding a way to attach it to the shell. I've been looking on The Ranger Station forums and gotten a lot of ideas on there. Like everything else that's on hold for the winter. Buying anything is on hold till after the Holidays, for sure.
Whats up fellers!
This time of year I'm wrapped up with my addiction....Christmas lights!
I haven't done anything to my 2013, or my 79' "Ka'Bluey". Well Ka'Bluey did find his way into our Christmas Light Display, since he's just sitting there.
I do need top get off my butt and get the 2013 in for the new tires to be rotated, and it's about due for another oil and filter change. Need to get the alignment checked too. Drives great, and the tires I replaced really wore nice, just got a little too thin this this time of year.
Hope y'all are doing well.
