Full resto finally
Next I bought patch panels the psd was not a donor the donor fell through and it was just tossed around as an idea.
Either way on to the good stuff trans got painted and I snagged some pics when I removed the throw out bearing linkage.
Next weekend I gotta get the rear of the frame painted as the body mounts are on their way and I need to get the cab pulled for the cab support repair

So after a little more painting I will be making wood rails for the flatbed then moving the cab back to do the front end.
It's nice to get all this done but there's a ton more to do before the trans goes in and the cab back on.
Cleaned fuel lines
Liquid awesome It's a cleaner called awesome from the dollar tree this stuff worked great
The sand blaster with glass media worked wonders getting the plastic clamps cleaned up
Cleaned frame
The black paint and the fuel lines and wiring back in place
New tank in. I used ratchet straps to hold the tank up then put in the skid plate pieces dat hold it up
Added mustang fender bolts and u nuts to hold up the skid plate. The oe nut and bolt thing did not work well and was hard to get off with the bed on. This will be much better in the future
I'm not driving the power stroke to work anymore. i picked up an 08 Taurus to daily drive. It's very nice for wat I've owned in the past.
And thanks fo da encouragement.
Wood cut and in place for the first side. Just duplicate for the other.
Holes drilled to clear rivets in the frame
Cut going up the bump above the axle
Cut for the weird flange near the back of the frame
Very back flange area. The cut pics are in order from front to rear so you can see what to do where
Looking down the frame you can see it bumps in above the axle.
This was done with a sharpie, circular saw, straight edge, and a drill nothing fancy. So it shows you can put wood under a flatbed on a home mount.
This will allow the flatbed to move some as the frame flexes many people weld or bolt right to the frame but this will greatly stiffen the whole assembly.
All commertial trucks do this with wood these days and that is why I went this route also.
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
Top of the front tank painted
Rad painted
Color samples on the fender that will be replaced
Skid plate painted on one side. Parts are drying as I type
