What is my tow capacity 2001 F250 7.3 Diesel

I put my truck and trailer on the scales and the truck, with 3/4 tank of gas and hooked to my trailer was 7,500 lbs, the entire truck and trailer weighed 14,600, trailer had one horse and no water. I also have a weight distribution bar. I'm having a Banks programmer installed Monday. I travel on 9% mountain grades and want to be sure I have the tow capacity and power to handle it safely. Any additional advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!!

Our 01 f-350 in signature hauling 4500lb camper while pulling 6000lb boat is about max I want to push our single rear wheel truck I think our tires are the most taxed,I would convert to a Dually if We were fishing/camping more than a couple times a year.

The #1 thing I would do if I were you is to install a 6.0 transmission cooler. Especially if your in the mountains constantly. I think your max tow rating is around 12500lbs but not positive.

Question A few questions...

"E" rated tires?

Number of passengers in the cab?

Additional cargo in the bed?

As mentioned above, add a 6.0 trans cooler.

You should be rated to tow 12,000 bumper pull more on a goose neck. You can google search your year truck for the ford towing guide.

On an older truck or anything where you suspect you may be up against a limit, I would strongly suggest you focus on only three things
1) truck brakes, in good condition.
2) trailer brakes, working, in good condition, and activated properly by the TBC
3) Going slow both up and down hills.

If you have a Ford factory installed hitch, 10K is what it is rated for.

Anything and everything you need to know about towing is in the link below. Directly from Ford, so there is no confusion. The guide is for a 2002 year, but they are the same as your 2001, and my 2000.
