Yep. Brush it off. Only opinion that matters is yours.
I had a bike not long ago. People would always ask "what kind of bike is that?" I'd say Aprilia. They'd say "no, what brand?" I'd say Aprilia. No, like who makes it? Aprilia. Then they'd shrug and walk off.
Lots of folks would say nice bmw. I'd say "thanks."
Didn't matter a bit.
Just don't talk bad about Larry's Volvo. He's sensitive.
Got that right!
Hell I get "nice Harley Davidson" all the time. At first I'd correct them, now I just say thanks aswell.
Just booked a motel room for a couple days the end of July in Asheville for mine and the wife's anniversary. Hope the weather will be nice and we can ride the bike and cruise the BRP and a few other roads in the area.

Awesome. If you need any tips on what to do or what to see, let me know. Lots of romantic things to see and do here. You can always shoot me a pm. Itll be nice here at the end of july. I can give you some routes to take on the bike that are breath taking all within about an hour of avl.
I'll keep that in mind, thanks! My plan if it doesn't rain to much is to take rt 226A the diamondback from little Switzerland down to Marion, and 80 the Devils whip. Of course probably hop on the BRP and cruise some aswell.
Keep in mind I said if it doesn't rain to much... last year we left on the bikes in the middle of that tropical storm that hit the beginning of May and went to Bristol. That same storm was still hammering the coast when we came back home and we rode in rain from Winston Salem all the way to the beach. But I don't see us doing that this time haha.

We're taking a trip back home for a week or so, the end of June. And planning on coming back on the BRP. I wish it was on a bike, but it shouldn't be too bad in my cushy old man truck.

good route. You can also take 221 from marion tom linville falls gorge.. another great route up the mountain and through the valleys.
In AVL, you can take 40 east towards black mountain (20 minutes on interstate) and take a right off the off ramp and about a mile down on the left is HWY 9, its a looping switchback and valley drive over to bat cave/chimney rock/lake lure area (all same road-one after another). This is probably one of nicest drives around here. The drive takes about an hour on this road. On the way back from bat cave come back same way drive past the hwy 9 exit and just drive straight. This is another curvy switchback valley road going back towards avl. This road comes out in fairview, nc (right outside avl) if you just continue straight on this road it will dump out almost right in downtown avl. this is called the lake lure loop by locals. Whole trip (2 hours driving) but lots of stuff to see on the way out to lake lure, lake lure and on the way back.
I seem to remember riding a bike out to lake lure when I was in school, years ago. Beautiful ride.
Had a beer naming last night, don't really remember what we named them though... However a ukulele and banjo showed up as well as Marty. Everyone had plenty to drink. I followed Bob's lead from the camp out and made Gumbo, which went down well (the entire thing disappeared).
Everone decided that the Bacon Maple Porter was by far the best beer, followed closely by a Belgian style ale. Or was it the IPA... guess I'll have to retry them.... didn't really make a dent in the 13 kegs rolling around the house.
Also set up the coast\Cat rods with 40 lb test checked the fishing report and it looks like next week, fish will be on the menu.
