Hello one and all again got another question for you guys how hard is it to replace the lower intake manifold gasket? My truck is running but its running rough still. At least its back to running, the way it was when i got it. Im sure you guys are getting tired of this! But i dont know what else it could be? All its doing now is. On cold starts such as setting, overnight it starts right up! And it goes to regular idle, ok but it runs a little rough. But after i drive it and leave it off, lets say more than 5 min. you start it, then it acts like its going, to run ok but it idles up a bit then almost dies. Or sometimes it does die, but then i can restart it and it does a small surge or two and runs. Makes no sense to me at all. I guess if i cant never figure it out? I will end up taking it to the shop! Or just keep driving it this way, until it is beyond repair. I just wish i could figure it out! I do like this truck, alot! Thanks again guys, for all the help!
I replaced that about a year ago. But that doesn't mean the sensor was any good now or then. I guess you pretty much check that like you do the ACT sensor i did check that about a week or so ago. And it seemed to be working ok! My neighbor up the street thinks its my timing, is off! Although he is a forklift mechanic. Not a auto mechanic. I did pull the dizzy cap off and rotate the crank. Back and forth the rotor seemed to be moving ok, though! But i can say its hesitant to start sometimes though! Like it has a dead spot for a second, then you can hear a what sounds like a ping pong ball hitting the table and then fires up but no noise after that through. Kinda got me baffled. Thanks lead head!! Oh and my base timing is at 12 degrees b4 TDC maybe i should put it back to 10! Thanks again brother!!!!!!
Update: I put a used TB in my truck today and she seems to be, alot better! At least for now, any way! Its, only stalled on me a couple of times. The other one must have been so out of whack, that i just couldn't get it adjusted right or something? I even used the IAC and the TPS that came with the TB, Because they were both Motorcraft! I found a guy that had the TB for 25 bucks! So i took a gamble and it seems to be working, so far! Now when the weather starts cooperating more than a day I will go back to the EGR problem i have! And do that last check with the wiring at the PCM hooked up under the hood, and if its ok i will replace the PCM! Thanks again for everyone's help! Cheers and have a good weekend!!!
