I miss my bikes but not having to dodge the other people trying to run me over. I love the vespa and want to get one to put on the back of the motorhome and use it at the beach. You can find cheap Chinese ones all day long but after dealing with a 4 wheeler my daughter had I will wait and get a name brand one.
This is a name brand vespa. My mom might get it since shes wanted it for a while. You know that you say that, Ive noticed before something dies it always get a burst of energy. My aunt was up and eating and talking hours before she went into a coma and passed. Ive observed this in animals and other relatives too. Its bad to say, but when my dad told me she was doing those things, I knew it would be less than 12 hours before the call came in.

I started the hydroboost upgrade today plus getting rid of the rest of the fiberglass insulation under the hood. Did a non functional cruise delete.

Possible to do on the 96? I have a customer that had the vacuum pump go out on 316. He wants to look for a viable alternative that wont put him that situation again.

Might be more aimed towards you Hugh,

but 1996 PS dually. Needs a rear main seal. Customer says he looked it up and can be done without pulling the engine. Every main Ive ever done the engine gets pulled. Have you guys hear it can be done inside the truck? I have not yet touched a rear main in a diesel in all my years of mechanicalness

If he will let you get on from a JY maybe cheaper. I was able to get both booster and F 450 MC for 105 shipped. The first post he did it on a 94.

The rear main is bolt in just have to drop tranny/ flexplate or flywheel. Watch the flywheel / flexplate bolts they brease easy.

If he has not done it already convince him to change his turbo downpipe to a true 3 ". The stock one is almost flat. You may have to massage the firewall a little.

They say you need to be there early if you want to get a spot to park in the show. Probably going to be 1500 cars and trucks show and its all free.

Cheif there's going to be about 15 of the lightning crew planning on going if your interested. Just let me know. We are working out meeting places and times for the ride up.

Hope this link works. But in case it don't it's at Coker Tire in Chattanooga on April 2nd.

The time for the rear main will be the tranny to pull it and put it back. When I did mine it took me longer but I work slow. I was able to slide the transmission back without removing the exhaust. In the driveway on jackstands.in the winter To get the cross member out you have to jack up the rear of the transmission . You can get to all the bellhousing bolts from the bottom with long extensions. If it is an auto. The flexplate is available aftermarket cheaper than the one for my truck. If it is a manual it may have the dual mass flywheel it cab be converted to soild. You may not even have to remove the starter. If you do there are 3 bolts the one on top is a PITA. If it is not tight it will let the starter move and will break the starter adaptor. That what I had to fix before I could get it home.

The hydroboost conversion is almost drop in. My latest project thread is a great thread. You can use existing MC just make sure you a booster with the push rod. You need at least a new PS resivior one for the hydroboost and two pressure lines. I found a pump and resivior at rockauto.com cheaper than I could get just the resivior.

Rebuilding Transmissions

I am trying to remember, but did one of you guys say a while ago that you knew someone who rebuilds transmissions and includes torque converters in the price?

What year is that transmission? Is it already out? Let me know and I will see if he wants to do it and how much. If he does not want to do it, I have a local shop less than a 1/4 mile from the house I ask him also.

I haven't got a core yet. But I can. It will be out of the vehicle. Will probably be a 99-01 4r70w. I need a 2000 rpm stall converter. It will go behind a 347 Blueprint small block pushing 415 hp. I will also be using a baumann Trans controller.

Alex

I just talked to my friend who is one of the best mechanics I know and trust very much. He would like you to call him about your plans. He told me that transmission may not be the best bet for you. He has been wrenching at least 40years.

His name is Charles Brazil. His number is 706 601 8565. Call him tomorrow make sure you tell him I told you to call him.

Hey guys,
Leaving out tomorrow to my grandmothers remembrance, one day round trip. I finally got the drive shaft and the flange off the rear end of the motorhome, O'Reilys ordered the wrong seal so I have to wait to finish it this weekend. Had the daughters boyfriend going thru and tightening the exhaust. We kinda just threw it in there to get by so now I have time to finish it correctly. I am tired of smelling like gear oil..

Really looking forward to the camping trip next month to Panama City Beach, going to be great having the family finally use the motorhome with me and me not using it as a second home. If the old lady ever kicks me out I know I could be an RV full timer.

Be safe. Throw in some tranny fluid to go with the gear oil and you have the perfect colone. NOT.

I end up doing yard work all day.
