Good morning Oregon, looks to be another wonderful warm day! So, I hear rumors the state of Oregon is going to shut down all of their coal generating plants?
Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. 38, wet and more rain on the way.

Well, for all intents and purposes the deemoncrats had already initiated the shut down of the coal fired power plant out at Boardman several years ago. It only has a few short years left. Those of us who are in areas that get power from one of two private companies, (PGE and PPL) are getting the shaft for paying the bill for "loss of revenue" and "loss of use" for the early shutdown prior to the normal amortization to 0 of the plant. xx number of cents for each KwHr is added to the monthly electric bill. This was a few years after they forced the shutdown of the nuke plant.
The law you are referring too was a "stuffed" bill pushed through by the deemoncrat "super" majority (Portland and Eugene) to prevent the importation from out of state of any power created from a coal fired plant. So, for example, if PGE were to "route" power into the state from the coal fired plant in Montana, they would be violating the law.
Here is the kicker.....The two major private power companies went along with this because they got rate increases, and most importantly, they got restrictions in the bill that would prevent any County or local jurisdiction from creating their own Public Utility Districts. So in essence they just gave the O.K. for the two major power companies to share a monopoly with authorized rate increases.
The Republicans had enough votes in the house to stop the original bill from getting passed, with some deemon cross overs. So what the deemoncrats did was stuffed the dead bill, via amendment, into a bill already passed by the Senate, and threatened the deemons in the house that were bucking them on it. Once they passed the revised Senate Bill in the House, it went back to the Senate for a "concurrence" vote completely bypassing any public hearings and Senate Committees. Since the deemoncrats - Portland & Eugene - have a "super" majority in the Senate, it passed on a pure partly line vote. I do believe there were a couple of deemoncrats in the Senate that voted against it, but an insufficient number of them to help the Republicans stop it.
Driveway is like a skating rink Roy but not as flat making it treacherous to walk on. my wife pulled a muscle in her chest trying to recover from a fall..

That is not good that she got hurt........However, you could massage her chest to make it feel better......
Good evening ford Fans'. Two days down three to go.
Go out of the dentist chair with a lot lighter wallet but didn't have as much work done as originally thought was needed.
It spit snow all day, but nothing stuck to the ground. Granddaughter hit me up for a ride home after school. And of course a snack...lol. She got a part in a school play, but didn't know the date.
Just did some odds and ends around here, then enjoyed the fire.
Belated good evening Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Just getting home from a gun club meeting.
Took the pickup in and got an oil change and lube job. They showed me where there was a little play beginning to show in the power steering Pitman arm and in both front axle u joints. One more thing to plan for not too far down the road.
Good morning Oregon, happy Hump Day! Jim, just replaced my axle u-joints and ball joints last fall. Looks like my steering box is next on the list, steering is getting kind of sloppy.
