2016 BS Thread...
Up late working in kitchen so slept in a little this morning. We have been out in the kitchen trying to figure out what to do with all displaced from the cupboards. We now have a blue tarp and big pile in the dining room right next to the Wurlitzer.
Lost the battle I think and I'm going to have to head into Lowe's in a bit an pickup a 36X30X12 white wall cabinet and an 18X30X12 wall cupboards to replace the 45X17X12's I took down. Computer says they have 3 of the one, but only one of the others in stock. It will give us a few extra horizontal inches and a bunch of vertical inches for cupboard space.
We've been in this house for 21 years and the Warden has been talking about doing something with the kitchen since the day we bought it. So I guess I've done a pretty good job of delaying and stalling. If it weren't for some very good Black Friday sales, I could have put this off for a bit longer, at least until after the hunting seasons and the salmon runs!
On the bright side, the Warden is still letting me go to the "After Hours Exclusive Club Party" at Cabela's in Tualatin at 1930 tonight. Means I'll have to leave here between 1700 and 1730. While she has consented to let me go, there is still some discussion as to whether I get to take any money with me.
I get to do five days of delivers in three days this week and the weather guessers are calling for quite a bit of rain starting tomorrow.
Been out in the kitchen prepping the wall to hang cabinets. Also working on a couple of repairs on the microwave box before I get it hung up on the wall. The Warden, aka "The Slave Driver" is giving me a break while she "face times" with our daughter.
Didn't get home until after midnight last night. Ran into a couple of problems. The "party" at Cabela's didn't end until 2230. My daughter in law shanghaied me just as it was ending and we just "had" to go to have coffee. (She works at Cabela's in Tualatin). Then there was pea soup fog on the way home and the last 20 miles was done at 20 to 30 mph. Finally made it home but it turned out to be a long trip.
A really - really funny and strange thing happened last night though...
I have a 4-24X variable, mil dot, adjustable objective, 1/8th MOA rifle scope that has just been lying around on a shelf not doing anything except collecting dust. Since, it had been advertised that a couple of factory "optics" people were going to be doing clinics at Cabela's last night, I dug this scope out of the box on the shelf, blew the dust off and took it with me to have them do a once over on.
After I got there, I took the scope in and took it to one of the clinics. They tweaked on it and made some adjustments and checked it out. When I finally got it back from the clinic, I, much to my dismay, I discovered it had made a friend.
Now try as I might, even with the help from a couple of the "Outfitters", we just couldn't separate the scope from its new friend so I just had absolutely no choice except to bring my scope with its new found friend home with me. Cabela's was not willing to "adopt" them. In fact, they were so adamant in getting rid of them, they even carried them out to the pickup for me.
So, now I still have the scope, but I also have to tolerate the friend the scope brought home with it. Dang, one more "mouth" to feed.....
The SCOPE.....I've had this fellow for several years.
And, this is the friend this scope got so attached to last nignt that they became inseparable and I had no choice but to drag home....

OOPS!

When all was mounted and adjusted, it still wasn't where I wanted it so we added a TruGlo Picatinny style 1/2" riser mount. That hit the sweet spot.
Also, my scope looks like it sits about a half inch or forward of your mount. I have to have it forward a little not only for eye relief, but also to avoid a "scope ring" on the nose. Old training dies hard, but I still 'suck' the rifle in, in a sniper type or competiton type position.
Trying to decide it I want to go with a bipod handle like you have or go with a straight set of bipods. I've had a love / hate affair with those.
What type of suppressor do you have?
