Good afternoon Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Duck hunting was worse than spoiled buttermilk this morning and extremely wet.
Getting ready to head back into Lowe's. After talking with the Warden she had some "executive" ideas that I need to go price out. I'm afraid with the dimensions we have, we may be talking custom cabinets which is going to be way out of the budget, unless I'm over estimating by lot, and I don't think I am.

Jim I have an ecm scanner if you need to get the codes.
I've got a scanner, Scan Gauge II, that I think should work that Mazda Protégé as long as it has a standard OBDII computer port which it should since it is a 2000 year model. Depending on what it tells me, I'm thinking I just make arrangements on Monday to take it down to Corey's and have him handle it. I hate working on that thing. Seems like you darn near need to tear a wheel well liner out of it or pull the engine just to add a quart of oil.
Good evening. I got two trees planted today. One red sunset maple and one jacqumontii birch. They should provide some good shade and privacy once they grow up a bit. I got the tallest ones I could.
Good evening.
Survived trip one to Forest Grove, trip two tomorrow.
Evan, Renee would have me planting fruit trees.
Jim, I have a scanner that connects via blue-tooth to my tablet can read and clear codes plus look at real time data.

I won't do fruit trees because of the mess and the drunk yellow jackets in the fall if you don't clean it up quickly. Luckily Jackie just wants shade and pretty leaves in the fall.
Good evening Oregon and everyone everywhere else.
Made it back from Lowe's. I was right, Warden was wrong. Now to figure out how to break it to her without winding up out in the kennel for the night.
My scanner will give real time and will clear codes as well as long as the vehicle is fully OBDII compliant. My pickup isn't fully OBD II compliant so it is not fully functional in that. But, I am still able use it in the pickup for digital read on RPM's, Voltage, ECT, EOT, Boost and a couple of other things. my 96 didn't have a transmission temp connection to the computer so I had to go with a tradition gauge and sending unit for that. Getting that wired, routed and installed was much easier than trying to program the Scanner for the pickup.
It doesn't record but it does save any codes it finds until I clear them. Works on the Merc, haven't tried it on the Mazda, this function does not work on the pickup.
With the Mazda the past CEL has been related to the MAF. If that is what it is this time, I'm going to have to dig deeper into the problem. This has had happened in the past and as soon as the MAF Sensor was cleaned it the code cleared.
We had a nice sunny day for our club meeting....everything went well for that. Last meeting of the year.
Always a little sad to put them away for the winter, isn't it John? I've got some put away, some lined up to work on. Will see what I get done. Much as i would hate to see a long winter, we could use a lot of moisture.
Good morning Oregon FTE and visitors.
Jim, MAF sensors do get dirty and need cleaning. I had to clean the one in our van.
Wayne it's been dry for while over on the dry side.
