Better burn lots I guess.
Got away to the mountains yesterday and did a little hike. Forgot how much work it is hiking through snow! In summer, that would have been no sweat, but with this trail conditions, I was sweating up a storm and was very tuckered out by the time I got back to the car. Still, nice to get away for a day.

Unemployment at a new low. Yup... Oil at 26.50 a barrel. Cdn dollar diving. But cheap gas. I'd rather see gas prices up imho.
Hope everyone is having a good day

Yeah it's amazing how so much stuff hangs on that oil price. Some businesses that are not oil related at all, but when the oil is low it seems the general population pays a little more attention to where that money goes.

Alberta Chat - Winter 2015!!

A lot of snow here today and still coming down. I sure hope the roads don't get too nasty... I got a bit of a trek ahead of me tomorrow morning.

Sorry about the double post! Makes it feel like I'm talking to myself!

Don't feel bad about talking to yourself. I do that all the time. Helps reduce the arguments to nearly zero.

Good thing you put that "nearly" in there. Because you know, it happens!

You'd be amazed at how many things are 4 - 10 times more expensive than 40 years ago. My first hourly paid job with deductions was $.85 in Manitoba in 73

I was born in Manitoba in 73 and moved out here almost 10 years ago now. Stay warm all and let's hope the winter ends soon

Happy Monday. Both my kids are owly this morning, the wife isn't feeling well, and I am grumpy because I didn't sleep well.

Think I'll make myself a big mug of tea and grumble to myself.

Been doing a little post Christmas cleanup here. Have a big load of cardboard to take to the recycling, and have been posting some used junk for sale. Already got rid one one item, and have someone coming for another tomorrow. That should put a few bills in my pocket, enough to pay for some beer at the super bowl party next weekend anyway.

Also found a box of books I haven't opened in five years. Those are getting gone too. Some to the nearby "little free library" and some to the recycling.

Trade you a "little post christmas cleanup" with rehashing the shops out back, 77. Got done with the first stage break down on the 450 and now it's time to set up the main shop to start the swap over of parts. Got a few 150 - 500lb tools to move and bolt down, don't think I have anything for the little library down the street.

No thanks Perry, that sounds like real work.

Nice civic Jon, I am a big fan of the little Hondas, have owned a few and really think they make the best small cars. Usually pretty fun to drive too. My ride these days is a Honda Fit, been very impressed with it, and decent room for two kids in car seats in the back.

Starting to make my summer plans. Trying to decide if I should just buy a cheaper tow beast and sell it in September. Needs to be a crew cab. Some interesting F350 XL trim stuff pops up on kijiji. Don't much care about visual condition, but don't need to run into big repair bills while on the road. Interested in everyone's thoughts. Needs to pull 8000 lbs six or seven days, and I can drive slowly, so gas is fine.

Can you access those heads without removing the complete engine or do you drop the whole thing out the bottom and do the gaskets on your coffee table?

Here's a project I completed recently. Head gaskets and the cam gear had come undone so the cam was not rotating, at all. Interesting stuff.
