Well got it back together and still have a hot no start. Took it to have it scanned, no leaks, injectors are all good. ICP pressure while cranking hot is only 250. More confused now then when I started! ICP is new IPR is new both high pressure and low pressure oil pumps are new. Stand pipes and dummy plugs, new O rings on all injectors new EGR and oil cooler. I dropped the oil when I re-did the LPOP and put in a stock filter and cap! Anybody got a stick of dynamite?
2006 F350 6.0. New EGR, oil cooler, Hpop with updated STC. New IPR and ICP. Finally got this truck running has a long crank and hot no start, as well as white smoke at idle. Tore down again put new stand pipes and dummy plugs, checked injectors and re-did all of the O rings. Put it back together long crank and again hot no start. Ran a scan IPR % koeo is 14.8% cranking 84.8% ICP pressure while cranking 650 PSI. FICM is 47.5 to 48. Have done an air test with IPR closed can not hear any leaks. Completely stumped. Any ideas?
Ok, so with engine cold, will it start , how's the battery's at this point is there enough juice to fire that big ol 6.0 , has to be a leak if not then contribution test is in order
Leak test with block off tools and a pressure gauge, then isolate and test the branch tube.
Dead head test the pump. 2 new bad pumps can happen but unlikly.
Do you leak testing with an ultrasonic detector while it's under
pressure. That should give you a lot more to go on.
One would think with a leak that is dropping enough pressure to
cause a hot no start that you would see it with a air test. When the air
test was done were the valve covers on or off? That would be where
the ultrasonic detector would really show. I would look at you run
the buzz test to see if one of the injectors are dumping oil when the
valve is moving. The only things left would be the branch tube or
the O-ring from the STC update to the pump.
I think also you should get a set of blocking plugs and deadhead the
two sides to see if closing one off at a time gets the pressure back up.
If not then doing a full deadhead and see what the pump is doing with
a mechanical pressure gauge plumbed into the system.
Here are the two plugs/ The one has a port for the ICP so the PCM can
read what is going on with pressure.
Yes 15/40 Shell Rotella oil. It was in the shop today and had a FULL diagnostic. Tested for leaks with nitrogen. NO LEAKS ANYWHERE. When started cold it runs perfectly and will run for hours without a problem. The only problem is hot no start. I am pulling the HPOP again tonight and will check the screen again on the IPR but it was clean last week so I am sure it is fine. Batteries are approx 1 month old and holding a charge.
