I love that idea, but I don't even have passports. I wish it was that simple. We just can't do it anymore financially. In Canada our prices for part are pretty much double what you pay in the states. For example an HPOP is 1600.00. Yesterday when we tried to start it up, it was a crank no start. It seems every time we fix something, another weak point goes. My husband has torn the engine down 8 times in the last 5 weeks. When we had it running on Friday night, we pulled the oil cap off and had a TON of blow by. So bad that it was a steady stream of white. At this point there is a trust issue. If we find and fix the problem can we trust the truck? After throwing a whole bunch of money into it am I going to get a couple thousand kilometres down the road and have more problems? This is our only vehicle and right now it is a giant paper weight. We could throw an engine in it, in fact we have looked into doing that. 10734.00 for an engine not including installation. We are already 8000 plus into this vehicle. The re sale value is already far below what I have into it.
I completely understand. I am sorry for your troubles. I wish it had turned out different. I was even looking on YouTube at Dieseltech Ron for you guys. He specializes in the 6.0 and all of its known problems. There are quite a few vids on your issue, but I am guessing you guys have addressed everything possible up to this point.

That is the route I ended up going with...
My mechanic found a used one with 60k miles on it, did all the upgrades, headstuds, BPD egr cooler, STC, coolant filter, and alot more. all said and done for about $12k US.
thats after the 3k to figure out my old engine was shot, plus the several thousand I put into it before that on the "fix this prob another shows up".
all in all I couldn't be happier!
Basically I now have a new bulletproofed motor that runs strong, the week I got it back pulled a 10k and a 12k Movie trailers around for a week.
I now have 25k miles on it since I picked it up in Jan NO issues.
The way I figured I could spend that 12K on another one and inheret someone else poor maintance or I could start fresh
This thread almost brings tears my eyes...
I'm in Detroit...if you end up taking another crack at it and need another pricey part, let me know and I'll look around here for you. Lots of parts here, dealerships and trucks being parted out. If I find what you need I'll ship it to you. I'm sure I can get it cheaper here than in BC.
