6.0 wont start

I have read numerous post regarding this but nothing has got this truck running. 2006 6.0 150k miles, truck ran strong until egr cooler blew I replaced egr and oil cooler checked ipr for cleaniness and cleaned the heck out of everything before I reinstalled. Went to fire it up and nothing just turns over with an ocassional hit or two. Iam getting oil in the filter bowl and fuel in the fuel filter bowl as well. Also when cranking I do noticed white smoke puffing from the exhaust. Do I need to crank more? I already drained the batteries once, I need this trucking running before winter starts rolling in

There is a "no start" diagnostic checklist in the Tech Folder. Run through that and you will find your problem.

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/8...condition.html

My guess is HPO issue. You need .9 volts (about 700 psi) at your ICP sensor to crank it. Have you check your HPO pressure?

check the icp with voltmeter, intially it jumped over 2 volts then held steady at 1.6vdc. looking into that tech folder you mentioned at the moment.

That's too high... Try unplugging that ICP sensor and see if she'll crank.

90% chance it's related to your latest work. Double and triple check your connections (like the ground on the back of the intake manifold) that comes off your FICM harness. Recheck your FICM connections... Each injector connection.

Scratching my head, because you should be seeing right at 1 volt on the ICP. That would put you at 700-800 PSI for the HPO system. (CORRECTION by edit) 2 volts is right at 1,500 PSI.

Cheezit always posts to check the IPR valve screen when this happens after replacing the oil cooler. It should still be pristine.

The IPR screen may have been clean when you had it all apart but if you got any junk in the HPO it would only junk the screen when you tried to start

If it were me Id pull IPR and check it again if nothing eles works for you

when you checked it the first time it hadnt had a chance to fill the screen with junk YET But now that you have tried to start it may have junked the IPR

pulled the ipr valve clean as a whistle, unitl you put it in the light you can see some micro debri in the screen but i doubt this would affect it, for the heck of it i clean most of that micro debri out. i checked the ficm and it held a constant 48 volts when cranking. im running out of ideas.....i really need to get my xcal 2 to cooperate with me so i can datalog....what parameters should i look at when datalogging?

IPR= Injector Pressuer Regulator

and its under the turbo

the IPR basicaly is the drain for high press Oil this is what regulates it since the pump is always pumping

05 is common to have bad STC fitting or stand pipes or dummey plugs issues

Being that your is an 05 I would start a new thread since the HPO systems are diff between 03 vs 05

see if it starts when cooled down
