Nothing stays on the shelf in my wardrobe closet. I would like to think it's the design, but I know it's the roads I take my poor trailer down.

Using leftover exterior molding (above and below the shelf), I made a rail to hold back items from falling off the shelf. It almost looks OEM until you notice the screws sticking down. Those were the shortest screws I had on hand that would reach.

Today I installed a 12v outlet on the front of the trailer. I need 12v power mainly for my water transfer pump, but I'll find other uses for it I'm sure. The outlet is rated for 50 amps but I'm using a 32 amp DC circuit breaker. The 8 gauge wire will allow a 2% voltage drop at 32 amps, which I doubt I would ever come close to. The circuit breaker is dual pole and is located inside the trailer so that I can secure the power. Should anyone try to overload the trailer they won't get very far but I suppose if someone were to try 120Vac that could get interesting. There is a male plug that fits the outlet. I have that wired up to go to an SAE plug that my water transfer pump connects to.

I made a set of brackets so I can quickly attach my Weboost antenna mast to the end of the trailer. The brackets attach to a set of small disks that stay on the side of the trailer. The cargo door frame was a perfect spot to but the disks. No worries about a weak mounting location or water intrusion. I still used butyl tape though.

Was thinking something like this for my DTV antenna. With the back of our RV being a full fiberglass rear, I still have not come up with anything. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I do have a receiver hitch that I use from time to time but it only works when the rear of the RV is pointed south....

Yes, I'm open to that and have been looking for some sort of telescoping system. Have not been able to come up with anything yet...
Edit: It would need to go above the roof line and I would need to be able to spin it so I could tune to the satellite. My brain hurts from thinking!

It doesn't always work out that I can mount the antenna on the rear of the trailer (due to the direction I park the trailer and the location of the nearest/strongest cell tower). So having a mount on the front is important too.

If I could figure out some sort of mount for the front of the camper, I think I would be fine not adding anything to the ladder and just using either the front mount or the rear receiver mount. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

A easy setup is the plate that goes under the tire for a telescopic flag pole. It gives you a really universal seup that can go on either side or under the tongue jack at the front. Even under the TV tires if needed.

looks cool untill a freak wind comes from the opposite direction and give a nice mark/ dent or something on the vehicle or trailer. I've experienced gusts come out of nowhere then nothing again.

That's my concern also. The antenna shouldn't catch as much wind as a flag, but I don't want the pole rattling against the side of my trailer.

If it had an upper support (sleeve) to eliminate or at least allow the least amount of movement it shouldn't be an issue till it snapped at the area. An antenna I would think even with the directional thing on top wouldn't be that bad but a flag whipping in the wind certainly would transfer movement more than I would like whipping around. Just something to think about or atleast try to prevent if possible.

What would really be cool is having some sort of crank up antenna much like the FM antenna in the bedroom area where you could crank it up and fine tune manually. I know Winegard makes these that are automatic, however, I'm not willing to pay 2 grand for the setup.

I added mounting discs to the ladder on the front of the trailer. Now I have the ability to put the antenna on the front or the rear of the trailer. When looking at the pictures, keep in mind I was using materials on hand. The 1"x2" square tube aluminum was not an ideal material. It was a PITA to get the nuts on. The u-bolts were just long enough to barely stick out of the other side, but not long enough to get more than a couple of threads on them. So I cut the u-bolts short. Another 1/2" shorter would have helped. No plan survives contact with the trailer.

Here is how the lower antenna sleeve attaches to the disc. The upper sleeve has a similar keyhole mount.

With the sleeve rotated into the vertical position.

The antenna mounted on both brackets.

Looks good, the extendable pole looks pretty stout to hold up to wind.
