For the past three years (since I bought it used), the frame of my cargo door ramp has been moving. Consequently, I couldn't keep caulk on the vertical seam where the metal door frame met the wall. I finally figured out what was going on. Most of the itsy bitsy screws that held the frame on were missing! The picture below is of the top of the frame on the curb side of the trailer. To the right is the cargo door frame and to the left if the vertical rail of the HappiJac bunk bed. The top hole is so jacked up that I couldn't put a new, bigger, screw in it. Note the dust on the wall, just to the left of the door frame. This is after I pulled the door frame back against the wall.
To fix this situation I had to first pull the cargo door back against the trailer wall. I mounted a 2x4 at the top of the door frame and then connected two ratchet straps to the 2x4. The ratchet straps were attached to the cargo tie-downs on the floor as far forward as possible. There was so much tension on the straps that they twanged when plucked. Both sides were drawn in, but the curb side came in the most at 1/2".
The vertical 2x4 boards were necessary because the ratchet straps wanted to pull the horizontal board down.
New screw on the left, old screw on the right. I didn't count, but I think there were 10 screws missing before I started. I used the old holes when I could but added a few more, just to be sure.
There are screw holes along the upper frame. Those holes have never had screws in them. They would be going into a fake wood shelf that is above the door. I don't know how much good that would do. It seems like it would just tear up the shelf. This is a lousy design on the part of Fleetwood.
I like the Carriages. Even being older if I was going to get a toyhauler and after inspecting it, if it looked to be in fair shape this is what I would look for but it's probably much bigger than what you're after. Or an Excel toyhauler.
Our 2015 impact 341 had zero USB or 12v plugs so I changed out the lighting control panel for one with built in USB chargers and added a plug by the nightstand. Pretty easy project now I need to make a backing plate for the slide switches so I can evenly space them to help my OCD.

Is this USB charger 12vdc or 120vac powered? If its 120vac, I'm just wondering why you didn't just change the 120vac duplex to one with USB ports built in. I need to add USB charging in the bedroom of our new Jayco and your post caught my attention.

The USB chargers are off the battery 12v, we mostly boondock and I needed them to charge off the batteries. We have had it out twice since I added these and have not noticed any additional battery drain.
Love this thread...
took delivery of my 30' Double R toy hauler last week. Plenty of room for the toys but lacks some cabinet storage. We figured the best solution is a 9 drawer tool box with wood top. $339 from Harbor Freight... They only had a red one left in stock so my daughter "decorated" it with my collection of man cave stickers. It will be strapped to the driver side wall using the built-in e-track during transport.
Also installed dual friction anti-sway bars on the tongue. No pics of that.
I built a shelf and added some peg board to my front storage compartment Sunday. Much more organized. We'll see how the peg board works when traveling.
Added some personal touches to the outside today...
I'm liking the Airborne stickers! My son was scheduled for jump school last year but it was cancelled due to Covid. He's a 2nd LT (Army) at the military med school.

Good luck to your boy. I was enlisted. Medically retired now. 5 tours later... I miss jumping. Spent about 5 years in the 82nd Airborne.
Wired up a third battery for extended off-grid trips. Have a 4th RV battery so I may even decide to wire it in later. We'll see how long it lasts. Should be camping next weekend.
