No hookups on the way home......everything is onboard, won't need hookups. Staying at Camping World Meridian, electric available.........Camping World Idaho Falls, nothing.
I expect to burn up a little coming home........I have a 3rd tank in the truck.
As I found out, not all dealers fill those bottles so physically check to make sure. We took a trip with the last 5er right after we took delivery and even though I was assured the 30 pound bottles were full, we ran out 3 days into the 7 day trip and had to buy locally just to have a hot meal (Roanoke, VA Camping World=$$$). Another thing - battery. On the current 5er the dealer put a dinky Interstate Group 24 in and it would barely last a set up in warm weather. It 'died' over the winter so I put a Group 29 in place of that clunker.
OK, now we are really anxious to see it with your photos and the travel home story
The dealer and I have talked about full LP Bottles.........We'll see.
Battery......Yep Group 24......
I am bring two (new this summer) group 29 12V batteries that they will install for nothing. I told them to keep the G24 battery.
I can't wait.........
Friday we leave right after school......about 3:45 pm. We'll drive about 5 hrs or so.....stop for the night......then about 5 hours to Meridian ID......Yippeeee!!
80 mph limit here in Montana. Kills the fuel milage.
Anyway.......65 mph towing. Just my choice.
Empty.......I'll usually do 75 max.
Some guy blew by me this summer in either MT or WY pulling an identical rig to ours, including a Ford SD. I was doing my usual 65+/- but he disappeared from sight within a mile.
I was surprised that empty how good my fuel mileage was at 75-80 mph when we were in SD and made a 200 mile side trip.
Roy, my wife and I went to a large RV show in Greenville, SC today and saw your new Montana! It was pretty cool to see it in person after seeing your pictures.
Very nice rolling home! It had tons of storage based on the den and the bedroom being elevated. Enjoy the journey and the destination, that is what RV'ing is all about.
