Everyone has nice shiny new equipment...here's mine. The opposite of shiny and absolutely the opposite of new. Beat to hell 2006 F-350 with the 6.0 pulling a 1991 Skyline Nomad 2815B

Sweet! My equipment is still fairly new, but I'd be happy if it lasts another 20 years. Even happier if God lets me enjoy it that long!

No better feeling than being debt free and enjoying what you have.

A setup like yours that is still in use gets more positive looks than a new rig in my opinion. Besides, as long as you are enjoying it and putting it to use, who cares what others think.

I was camping with a 33 year old Class C for 6 seasons that I bought from the original owners with 24k miles on it. After living in a brand new 5th wheel I spend about the same amount of time working on the new 5th wheel as I did the 30 year old rig but the parts are quite a bit more expensive on the newer rigs. Newer isn't always better.

I always had used trucks, used trailers or truck campers until I retired.
Instead of payments for a new rig while working, I invested. Then I paid cash for my nice shiney new truck, 5th and truck camper when I retired at 57 years old.

I did the exact same thing at the same age as you, hopefully we'll enjoy it at least as long as p38fln is enjoying his rig.
First pull with the new to me 7.3.
Between the 7.3, the 10 speed and long box it made a world of difference compared to the 17 6.2 SCSB. Light years better
ole 351 hauled this 11,500lbs one of mine from Lynchburg, TN to Norris Lake. Had a 6.0 and 6.7 truck to haul it to/from Alaska, but have since divested myself of diesels. The ole gasser wasn’t the fastest, but maintained 55-60 no problem and stopped easily.
