Good luck

Don't forget all the basement storage (front, middle, rear).

Just for giggles, I looked up Carriage Cameo on RVTrader. There's a F30RLS 40 miles from me. In the ad, it says the cabinetry is all wood. Is that true? On my trailer, only the doors and drawer fronts are real wood.

Yes all wood. Drawers dove tail fitting not staples.
Just some features.
In house built frame 2" x 6" double stack box tube steel.
5/8" tongue and groove plywood floor.
2" x 3" aluminum studs welded 16" on center.
5" thick aluminum roof trusses, 16" on center.
1/2" plywood roof floor.
3/4" plywood cargo floors.
plus many more features and nice upgrade packages.

Bling is nice on an rv but the bones are what make the unit.

With in the Carriage brand the levels went Cameo, Carri-lite, Royals International

Excel 5th wheels were nice units also.

One thing to remember when looking at older high end units is even though they are well built if they weren't maintained over the years there could be real problems. Our present 17 year old HitchHicker Premiere had been and still is a great unit and nobody can beleave it's that old but we ordered it and are the only owners and its been well maintained. It hasn't been just sitting in a shed and I stopped keeping close track of pulled miles when it went over 100K 5 or 6 years ago. But it's very well built and heavy because of the way built, it sits on a 16" frame all the way up to the basement area then it drops down and the main floor area is one solid piece of engineered wood that's 7/8" thick and like the Camio has solid wood cabinets but in our travels we have run across HH units that have seen better days because they weren't taken care of so buyer beware. A lot of our HH friends have had their units full body painted to make them look like new and they do.

I am taking on a major repair/rebuild job for a couple I know that purchase an older TT..... wood rot in one area of the structure around the slide out........ This is going to be a giant PITA job, but I am going to do it for them. The local RV shop wants 1.2 million dollars to do the job. I will get paid some, but affordable for them.

Just waiting for travel to begin again. Nuts, this staying home is wearing me out. Too much to do at home. We should be camping!

Camping in Alaska, an experience worth repeating.

On your Fox was the hitch on there or did you add it? All I have found is light weight hitches.

I added two receivers to help keep the toolbox steady.

I ordered one from Northwood when we bought the trailer. I added two more to the same beam they mounted across the back to keep the toolbox from rocking. I added a small receiver under the toolbox so I could mount a flag to a stinger when we are parked.

This is the factory hitch that is put on a t he frame shop when built.

I'm glad that I bought a used trailer as my first one. It gave me a much better appreciation of how to fix things, what I really want (floorplan, features), and how to spot problems.

Arctic Fox is at the top of my list, but there are very few used ones out there.

Took the new beast out for the first time last weekend. Bathroom faucet leak and shower door track leaked. Fixed faucet before we left, recaulked shower door next day, got the leak stopped. Read lots of comments on leaking shower doors so I went armed with caulk in case. Watched as wife showered and water just ran out. New rv quality! LOL. New ones give you plenty to fix too Jim!

Got my two trailers ready this weekend.

The big country is my lake trailer, installed. Kisoe 2000 Watt inverter In it with a charger bypass, and a 345w panel. Runs everything but air.
the Stoneridge is the river trailer, where it is located, and we installed a 345w panel on a pole so we can keep the fridge on all summer, both have the 4 each

The new ford

345 watt and in the back 2- 275 watt power poles.

My river Stoneridge at the river set up and camping ready. Hooked up to the 345w panel.

My big country for my lake lot in BC new Kisoe 2000 watt inverter and a 345 watt panel. Runs everything but the air. Both with 4 each , Rolls 275ahr 6 volt batteries.

Our river spot on the bow with the jet boat.

Rolls, 275 ahh 6 volt batteries,
