The light wood is Birch and the fenders are African Padauk, tires are Walnut. Seats a Butternut and Walnut
Nice, two woods that are not so easy to carve - maple and padauk.
I am guessing that where you live it is sometimes just too cold to go outside... We are getting a cool night tonight, down to the mid 40's!
Down here the Butternut is sometimes called "White Walnut". It's a very light wood.
I made a mantle from butternut for our nicer cabin here. It's 5' long, 10" wide, and 3" thick. It weighs less than 10 pounds.
I just don't have the patience some of you guys have. Even if I had the skill, which I don't, I could never take the time needed to create something this nice. Maybe that's why I don't have the skill?
