I honestly think that there is still a viable market for the Excursion.
With today's power plants, from the EcoBoost to the Diesel, a modern Excursion would be able to achieve decent power, performance all while still getting decent milage.
There is a reason that used Excursions still sell well, with well taken care of ones often being sold in the mid $20k range!
There is a market, there is even a demand for this SUV, a demand that the Expedition does not and will never fill.
I thought about this once and the first thing that came to mind would be the cost. The 250 super duty w/ all the bells and whistles and a diesel is over $60k. Wouldn't that put the Excursion in the 70's? That's a whole other class I'm not sure the excursion would compete well in.

A very good point, but if you look at what the Suburban, Tahoe and Yukon are all going for, the price is right there, and you can't get a diesel in one of those!

Well if you think about it's not out of line my MSRP was $51,570 a decade ago.
I'm not so sure there is enough market for it. GM dropped the 3/4 ton burb last year. It was the only game in town and apparently didn't sell enough to justify keeping, even with it being so similar to the 1500 model.

True, but you are talking about government motors, who would want to own one of them...

Those are mostly 1/2 tons. I believe GM is discontinuing the 3/4 ton Suburban and Yukon.
I don't think that it makes economical sense for Ford to bring back the Excursion for such a limited market. For those that really need them in the commercial world, there are custom builders.
I currently own 3 2000's.. all 4x4 6.8. ( won't ever own another diesel ) FLAME ON, but that's another story... In the 4x4 class there is no option to get a TRUCK running gear (other than Dodge....need I say more ??!)
I SURE WISH THEY WOULD (so I could afford your 10 year old $70K rigs )
