Calling bull on that one. That is more than 60000lbs over its towing capacity. I have no doubt the truck could pull that flat, but you didn't tow that on a trailer. No trailer that is able to be hitched to a pickup, or a dumptruck for that matter, is going to be rated for 40 tons. That is purely heavy duty tractor trailer weights.
Call bull on whatever you want, you are not required to believe it, doesn't matter to me one way or the other. I never said it was on a trailer. I was towing a loaded water tanker semi.
"Say what you want about DEF, that 6.7 diesel is a MONSTER. I towed 80,000 lbs with a 2011 F350 SRW, up and down and round the hills in North Dakota. At 60mph."
Got 22 MPG doing it to boot
No, it was sucking diesel like nobody's bidniss, but I got that semi back to town!
As I said, I fully believed it could flat pull it, it just sounded very much like you were trailering 80000 lbs. I fully believe you towed that semi all around. My apologies for not seeking more information.

I had a 2011 250 SD for a couple of years. I can say it towed 12,000, in a straight line, very well. It was a torque-y beast but did not feel stable at speed or in wind. I was very surprised. Once I got the EX set up, new tires and a rear sway bar, it tows better than the 2011.
I would say that if I had the means, I would be calling Tim for a 4 door SD conversion. Mainly because its cool. I would have a 350 dually for towing.
On the Expedition, thats the F150 station wagon, and will continue to be , the Ex was the SD wagon. Im thinking if fuel prices stayed the same for a while, more may buy a new updated EX.....I would.
I know the diesels can pull like mad. I've used my Dads 6.4L before. But the sad part is, over the whole trip, it would have cost less of I would have used my 351W I had at the time. I got 7 mpg with that 6.4L pulling the same camper I use to pull with my 94 F150 with 37s, 4.56s, 5 speed, and 351W. Sad part was at the time gas was like 1.50$ cheaper than diesel.

Actually, there are pics somewhere, but I do not have access to them. A couple of weeks after I towed that semi, I overheard someone talking about it in one of the laundry mats in Williston, ND. He said a friend of his saw it and that word was spreading around about it.
I am, or was, something of a folk legend in Williston.
My wife drives a 2004 Excursion, Limited, diesel. She absolutely loves her truck. When we get her a new truck, it will probably be an F-250 Super Duty or a Raptor. There is definitely a market for large SUVs. It drives me nuts to how many Suburbans I see rolling around. Ford just abandoned that market way too soon.
