Thanks. That's a little bit of a drive for me, but I'll keep it as an option.
Got out of the house today. I may hate that little Nissan but it does do a wonderful job of getting around. The high ways were fine, and the back roads have some patches. As expected.
According to Weather.Com we may have a smaller storm coming in this afternoon, hitting the Raleigh area around 2 or 3 maybe.
Yeah, yesterday I went around the house and secured the crawlspace vents. Had to make covers for 2 of them as they had fell off under the house. Glad I checked. No water problems today so I guess I am good. Wood stove easily keeps house 75*+, sometimes have to crack a window LOL. All outside faucets covered and insulated and antifreeze in all vehicles is good.
Sunshine and blue skys....and like 15* outside LOL, is this February in Greenland?

Didn't even think of closing the crawlspace vents. I'll have to go around and do that tonight when I get home. May not help much, but one less busted pipe will always be better.
I closed our crawl space vents a month or so ago. I left a couple of the water faucets on low too. We're renting this house but still don't want busted pipes. We may buy a place again, but I still cant get over the price of a nice house here in NC, compared to what we paid for either house in Mo. Just not even close.
Y'all stay warm.
Well, bob, it don't help you been looking in the Raleigh/Durham area either. Living expenses up there are probably among the top 5 highest in NC. Tom of traffic too. I work that one site we have in Morrisville and it near bout drives me insane. Lol
I couldn't get out of Durham soon enough. This Apex area is more my speed with a nice small town feel. These are small houses here, mostly 2 bdrm, 1 bath and in the $160's.
We paid less than $150K for our last house that was four bdrm, 3 full baths, 2 car garage, fireplace, nice fenced yard, and it was only 3 years old then.
It's just sticker shock from the Midwest, to the east coast.
I'm not belly aching about the state at all, I'm cheap
Yeah, Apex is still that area though, prices are ridiculous compared to like Alamance and Orange County. Id be having sticker shock too if I tried to move that way lol
Lol yeah. If you do decide to buy somewhere closer to me, I got a friend I went to highschool with that does real estate, so she might could help Ya out.
She's still at Duke hospital downtown Durham. Too far for her, I always liked my longer drive to and from work. It gave me time to get ready for the day, and to help unwind from it too.
