Heck, throw in Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for me!
And luckily enough, thanks to these freezing cold temps the other week, I worked a side gig doing fire watch for $25 an hour, so that check is pretty much going to car parts lol. New intake and related parts, new plugs, new coil packs, new IAC valve, and a 1/2 trunk tray pulled from a cop car in Texas ($65 on ebay, shipped to my door)...Yeup, I got a busy week ahead of me lol
Matt, why are you changing all coil packs, and IAC? You could be spending a chunk of money that isn't needed. If all of those were bad, I don't think you'd be driving the Merc at all. That sounds extensive for basic PM.
Just thought I'd ask
G'Mornen everybody, another round of PT this morning, then I have a couple packs of County Style Ribs to get prepped for the smoker tomorrow. I'm taking advantage of that 74* weather
I did the same thing on our Expedition a while back. They are known to go out and the truck had 150K on it. Our 05 Ex had 3 go out while my mom borrowed it and it ruined/melted the cat conv. I think changing them whenever plugs are done is smart.
I got 8 coils on Ebay for under 60 bucks. Kept the old ones as spares just in case.
Amazon has a set of 8 coils for $40 and some change, free shipping. Ponykillr, if you want the link I'll shoot it to you.
Keeping the current ones as spares is my plan as well, especially since I just changed one of them when my plug blew in January.
Plugs are all getting changed due to the fact an early sign of the intake going out is rough idling while warming up...Which mine has been doing for about 6 months now...And I didn't know it was an early sign lol.
The IAC is getting changed because it's only $40 and I'm pretty sure it was contributing to my rough idle as well. Took it off a couple weeks ago, cleaned it with some carb cleaner, reset the computer, and didn't have a code for about a thousand miles. I'm pretty sure the one that is on it is the factory one, so 175k miles sounds like a good time to change it lol.
The above may vary well get me kick off of here, and if it does, so be it.
I've gone against Dr's. orders and have taken off my wrist brace, and it has been great.
Until, I got over to the smoker and put everything that I already had 7 plus hours into, on baking sheet to wrap up in foil and finish off what I've been working on.
Well, my wrist gave out, and EVERYTHING that I've been working on hit the ground. No, I'm not in a good mood.
Shari and Tim have taken off to grab Pizza or Burgers from some d@mn place.
It's gonna be a long night.
Yeah man.......... I'm not happy.
Guess that's what I get for not following the doc's orders.
My right hand just quit right in the middle of everything. About $40 in meat, and at least 7 hours of babysitting the smoker down the drain. By the way, I smell GREAT!
Nope, I can't do that. Too much time/pride into it.
If it were just me, oh yeah, I can get by the other stuff. But not if I'm feeding others.
My hand just gave out.
Beer is going down fast now.
