I'm staying safe and warm inside, watching my drunk idiot neighbour and his even drunker 2 idiot mechanic friends replace his tension pulley for his serpentine belt. They started this project on thursday but broke the bolt that held on the siezed idler bearing, they were to drunk to go to the part store and get the whole $56 assembly, they bought just the idler bearing. Hearing them and thier slurred cursing is hilarious, even the cats are watching and probably laughing thier tails off. and more
I've lived here all my life, and I still can't get used to the wild swings in temperature we get. Feeling cold today, just drank some tea, now have the fireplace running and I'm baking a ham.
I was raised in southern small town Manitoba and got used to -35 & worse with a 35mph or worse wind, made me good at walking backwards, better to sacrifice butt than face. The temperature swings out here aren't to bad, the winters are why I moved here. It's just that my circulation this year is bad and I can't keep my feet warm, theres a pain that shoots up from my heels to my knees and that's the part I don't like, that and waiting for this next chinook. Weatherman keeps predicting it but he's a lousy psychic.
Hope the low oil prices don't hurt to many people to bad. As for me it never really affects me other than I get to have cheap gas. Anyway have a good weekend all as for me I am sitting in my hotel because being on call sucks!
So far so good for me, but we did have a round of layoffs last shift. Lost 2 guys but they were dead weight, then gained at least 4 more from other divisions (scaffolders/insulators). I'm in the labour division.
I haven't made my way over to Cam Clark out here in Airdrie yet to check them out. Not sure I'll have time tomorrow either. Oh well I'm on days off until the 26th so I might be able to find some time in the next week, hopefully.
Enjoying the warmer weather we are experiencing, got a new cover for my 64 for when I store it in the winter, looks good very happy with it.
Made a deal on a 57 3/4ton long box last weekend but won't get it till spring as its in the middle of a snowy field, I'm not in a hurry anyway as it will be a bit before I start stripping it down Anyway went bowling tonight and had a good time, wife kicked my butt as per usual. Have a good night. D
