I hope you don't mind if I join the club, it's this or I talk to the cats and unfortunately Frankie likes to hog the conversation. I'm retired due to health reasons at 53 and although I look healthy from 20' my lungs and ticker are the same as an 85 year old. I'm working on an oddball project that's meant to raise hell at first but should become a work truck by the end of November. I got to do sme welding today, first time in about 15 years so it's a bit embarrassing to look at but atleast I know what I did wrong, not enough work light to see what I'm doing. Making supper so I got to go before I burn it. Have a good night every body.

What part of cow-town are you hanging your hat in these days?
I'm a north-central guy myself. Currently in Mount Pleasant.

For whatever reason, I've been subscribing to this thread a number of times already but it never shows up in my "subscribed threads" section. Guess I'll have to post a little more often and maybe it will then. But if you wonder what I'm up to these days check into the Diesel section, 6.4L, and look up the thread entitled "what did you do to your 6.4L today?"

That list of trucks is my ferd herd, actually the 78 and 89 got combined. I'm putting the 78 on the 89 chassis cause the 89 has a sterling rear, sway bars, ball joint front suspension, a shorter wheelbase, is about 400 lbs lighter and is set up for fuel injection. I still have the 351w, efi and zf42 trans w new slave and release bearing that I don't know what I'll use it for. The 78 was my dump truck, but someone who owes me money decided to vandalize the motor while I was out of the house when my bathroom got reno'd. It is being converted to a 5th wheel RV puller. The box from the camper special is going onto the 78 and a flat deck is going onto that one. I had a 75 Scab but it got trashed this spring by the same person who vandalized the 78, plates got stolen and he called the city and claimed it was abandoned and had it towed. I was in the hospital for 4 days due to lung problems at the time. The Scab had a 460 in it and it was a parts truck for the 78.
The gut bucket is a lark, it's a sandwich truck that no one could find as the guy was out past Springmeadows in the country. It cost me $325 less $318 less $383 less $195 and I've spent $242 so far rebuilding it into a cage truck. It's being rebuilt as a "revenge" truck and hopefully it causes a lot of misery to my vandal. The truck runs pretty good as it has fairly low mileage and a really strong suspension. In December or January I hope to be done with the purpose for the truck, nothing illegal just truthfully rude billboard and then I'll make it into a rubbish/trash/metal truck and either keep it or sell it.
I live in Forest harlem, it's not my type of area but Varsity Estates wouldn't put up with my farm boy act. I used to live on the corner of Paradise road and #1, that little grey house with the 30' x 50' heated quonset on 9 acres. Before I moved into the city I was on 284 out by Sheppard on 4 acres with a 30' x 80' quonset and outbuildings. I've known that my health was going to give out on me for about 12 years so thats why I live in town. I can survive on what I used to pay for rent, which is about what my pension is. 2 years ago in September I had whats known as a oxygen deprivation stroke, it's when your blood oxygen absorbsion drops to just above 50%. So much for my working days. I'm not crippled up or anything like that, I just had a 90% loss of strength. Got back a fair amount of it back, I just refused to take it easy and used a set of crutches instead of a walker and now I'm only on part time oxygen.
I know that was a bit to much info, but I'm a bit of a hardliner and I'm used to pushing myself. I built a 24 x 20 tarped over shed knowing the city was going to either give me 30 days to drop it or 45 days to get a permit so that I could do 2 major welding projects on my trucks. I'll have a bunch of lumber to give away between Nov 1st and the 5th, thats when the 45 days are up.. Oh yeah, Frankie is a girl, she had fur ***** and a funny walk that caused confusion for 3 months. She still walks funny and has *****.
And thats my introduction, ps,, my other cat is Sally

Vandal is my winter entertainment. Been working on the truck and I know I'm doing a fair amount of work cutting braces, uprights and all kinds of panels. I've been hard at it welding and riveting the pieces in, but when I look at my overall end of day pictures it looks like nothing has been done. I feel like Charlie Brown pitching a game or trying to kick a football, AAAArgh. My pic of Sally didnt come thru?? is there something about photobucket I don't know, like maybe you can't post a picture thats more than a year old. Not all that familliar with photobucket or social media sites.
