my ugly crew

its ragged but runs great and is pretty damn good on fuel for a heavy beast, I have southern front doors and fenders and a clean dually box stashed away for it. broke it to the Mrs I'm taking holidays this year , 4weeks worth! she just said> the truck has to be on the road and proven by April, or she won't do it. I haven't taken more than a day off in the last 5yrs so I was expecting more of a reaction from her....................
my 15 yr old daughter helped me with front brakes on the 94 winter explorer today and she is already on my case about what she can do on the crewcab to help get it ready.

so its going to be a family project, now i need to find a decent truck camper for under $5000 Canadian. wife has been bugging me for a few years to buy a truck camper so we can do weekends at a provincial park so the camper purchase should be easy. We live on a 3 acre park with large farms all around us , We could camp in our own yard? more privacy than a campground........

Sunday I'm running it down to my workplace to get started on the safety inspection, talked to the owner(my boss at work) today and he said I could use the dealer plate no problem.

I will be taking pics of its progress, or maybe I should say my 15 yr old will be taking pics with her ipad. she is pumped up on this project, I wish I had her enthusiasm.

Is that 900,000 miles or metric units of measure? Either way that's impressive

its 300000 not 900000, and its km so only around 200,000miles. just broken in , just rusty body. it drives pretty good even in the snow . I figure the drivelien will last for 2 bodies.

My 97 crew cab 351w truck. Just rolled 90k miles and, with the new addition to the family, was promoted to baby hauler

How do you like those step bars? I just took the hoops off mine cause I hated how they looked and the way they caused the rockers to flex under my weight.

Well id say there just ok.
Pros being it would be a nightmare to get into the truck without them, they are bolted thru the rocker right against it so they dont flex and they did a pretty good job with anti slip on the step when they are only wet.
Cons being there made of steel and arent rusting yet but eventually, the steps collect the ice and snow in the winter, and they used to extend past the cab under the bed and if you flexed the truck at all they would hit the bed so i cut the back of them off.

however they were on there when i bought it and i dont really know what id put on there otherwise

Project

Thought id chime in, ive been watching this thread for months.
94 F350 4x4 7.5l e40d cab+chassis fire truck conversion
Ive had this truck about 6 years, been piecing it together if you cant tell by the colors. Its unique because it has a cab and chassis frame and rear end, so a single wheel bed fits nicely with custom mounts and 4" fender flares. Low miles and i only add about 2k per year hauling machines and a yearly camping trip to Maine from NY.
My next plan is to finally make it one color, im thinking ford blue, leave the cab top white and make a 4" thick white line down the body from headlight to taillight, F350 mixed in the line on the fenders. Kinda like a tw-10 tractor paint scheme. Whaddyathink?

Saved this one from the jaws of death. Yanked the utility box off and threw on a junkyard donor. Not sure what I'm going to do with it, but I couldn't let it die. Also looks like I need to trade boxes with Motsch

I snapped some pictures of the truck today. I could really use some of your guy's help to figure out what all this truck has on it mod wise and what would be some good options to further enhance it. I do want to do a RSK kit for the front to level it out.

Here's the pics:

Is this a stock turbo??

awesome truck. Looks like the stock turbo. If it doesn't have a tuner (and even if it did have *just* a tuner) it wouldn't be smart to throw any turbo mods at it.
