Yup Izzie your right it's cold but we must count our blessings since it's a dry cold . and if you don't stand out in the wind the temp is only -35c .

Man, and here I thought it was pretty dang cold when it got to -32*F here the other day! The truck took its time starting that morning, but at least it started!

I have a hard enough time keeping warm down here around 0 temps. I'd be a popsicle if I lived up by you! I can barely keep circulation going to my toes in a 71*F house!

Ok now that I've done the conversion - minus 62 degrees centigrade is -80 degrees Fahrenheit. Is it really -80F degrees there? Gasoline isn't even a liquid at those temps.... I'm not sure I can even think about that kind of cold.. How far up toward the arctic circle do you live? Geez...

That temp is with wind chill value not actual temp, where I live we are sitting at -28*C with wind chill values of -46*. You get out of the wind and you can put your collar back down

Regina is only about 120 miles north of North Dakota. Somehow that 120 miles has a huge temperature difference. In the summers it reaches 100F on a regular basis. One of the biggest temperature swings in the world from summer to winter. I was born and raised in Regina and just moved to Edmonton. Its about 240 miles north of Regina and a little closer to the Rocky Mountains. It usually has warmer winters then Regina. Go figure. Temp without the wind is -48C. Saskatchewan is the flatlands and your lucky to find a tree to get out of the wind.

And yes I have been to gas stations before that cant pump gas cause the gas has frozen into the lines. We have winter gas up here though that has ethanol additives.

I have asked this question many times and still have not got a good reply . Why did people settle in the north ? Take the pilgrims , 1/2 of them died the first winter , Why didn't they get back on the boats and head south , Or who thought Northern Michigan was a get place to live in a tent or lean-to . Now I look at the weather up north and ask why it took me 57 years to get the hell out . Come on day after day of 18 - 20 - 10 below - rain and 32 - snow , sleet , and ice . And yes I know it sure is pretty during those 75 days of summer , and 30 days of fall . That leaves 260 days of crap . I think 6 inches of snow once a year is all I need to remember my years up north .

They couldn't figure out how to take Plymouth Rock with them, so they stayed there.

I tell you, how can weathermen get it so wrong sometimes. We were predicted (note youtube video above) a major storm. They said we would get half an inch of ice and either 5-8 inches or 10-14 inches of snow depending on who you listened to.
Well this morning we have almost nothing. It might be slick but good grief. Weather.com said 95% chance of heavy snow at 8:00 am. Well......nothing, not even flurries.

I guess I shouldn't complain about not getting the storm, but dang! How far off can you be.

We have that many days of Summer? and Fall?
There were some Summers in NY that were hotter and drier than in Virginia, so I came down to Virginia to work on the house.
Even this winter there were times it was colder in NY than in Virginia.
I complained to the weather guessers an Punxsutawney Phil about this. Still no reply.
