My dealer has also asked me to wait for a fix on the AC but I still have the steering wheel shake so I am waiting ot get the car back this time from repair to decide what to do.
I noticed a shimmy at high speeds when I turn the wheel slightly in either direction. Is that what you're talking about? Did they fix the problem?

There is a whole thread here titled "Front end Vibration" that is all about the steering wheel shake. Mine is at about 65 mph and feels like a tire is out of balance but that is not the case. My expy is still in the shop for this 5th trop and they have had it for 8 working days this time.

Raudy,
Have you talked to the laywer yet ? I'm curious if you have to send a letter to Ford Motor Company so start the proceedings. I was told that and haven't been able to verify it. If that is the case according to the Lemon Law they have 1 more attempt to fix it ? Does anyone know if I'm reading the law correctly. By the way I hit 30 working days in the shop on Tues I will probably get it back Monday

THe lawyer thing I found on the internet I became very leary of. After talking to them, faxing all my service work orders, they send me a letter to sign stating I wil pay $3500.00 if I win my case with Ford, if not I owe nothing. I felt if I was going to pay that kind of money I would find an attorney locally if I could and not deal with one a thousand miles away that I found off the internet. I have not furthered my correspondence with them. My gut feeling was they were a bit shady....too many reason to list here.

Was back at Ford yesterday to get the brochure for the independent board that hears a pesons case, sorry the name escapes me now, and my file is at work. This is supposed to be available in most states. No lawyer needed, they hear and they decide. Now Ford does not have to go along with it, then it would go to court, but am sure the lemon law would be the same way.

When at Ford the shop foreman and I were talking and he has his own ideas what is wrong with my A/C. He wants to replace some other parts and the expansion valve again. I said order what you need I am willing to bring it back one more time. I sure do not want the hassle of fighting Ford for a new car but sure will if I have to. He has been great, concerned about the problem. I hope he does resolve it, because if he does not I am going with the arbitration board.

I did speak with the general manager of the dealership that day too, told him the mechanics and all have been great, it;s just there is no fix right now for my problem. He suggested meeting with a Ford rep first, often he decides to get the car replaced and saves going to the board. Sooooo, will let them have the car one one time, then will do the rep thing.

In Nevada is says out of service for 30 days or more I believe or in for repair four times and no fix. Look for that board info at your dealer, they should have the brochure and application to complete.

Sorry for going on so long but I have a lot to say , hope this helps....

Not sure how your lemon law works, but here we don't really need one.....Ford must know the problem is there because they settled with me before the hearing. I did not have a lawyer.

This is sick! I wonder what % of vehicles is affected by this problem. To top it all off, I'm sure they are kicking 2004's out the door with the same problem now.

Giving them one last shot at fixing the car. It goes in on Tuesday. The Shop foreman thinks he has an idea where the problem is and ordered in a couple of new parts. Will post back Tues evening with details and maybe results. Hate to sound negative but don't think a fix will happen. But I am a patient person (sometimes and want to let Ford know I gave them the opportunity to try to fix it.

BUT, this is the last time it will be in for service and yes, fully intend to ask for a meeting with the Rep asap. If that does not fly I will try the dispute settlement board.....

How about you DN27, where are you at with your problem?

The whole process took me about 2 months. The longest wait was finding the vehicle we wanted and getting the paperwork back from Ford. We actually signed paperwork on the new one yesterday although we have had it at the house for about 2 weeks.
Left rear window motor has already been replaced........G R E A T

I sent in my paperwork last Friday to start the process. They put new tires on my Expy and still has the problem. I hope they get yours fixed today, although I doubt it.

YHou are darn right, picked the car up, said all was working fine, drove down the road and within 5 miles the A/C was blowing hot air. down to 32 degrees then up to 58. Called on my cell to dealer, told them what the HE _ _....you said was working fine. Drove back to the dealer, mechanic said he drove it up a grade into the mountains and felt the compressor kick off sooner than it should, thinks now it is not an A/C problem but a computer glitch problem.

THAT'S IT. DONE, filing a complaint with the board that they hand out the brochure on. Mechanic said not to ask for an appt with the factory Rep, would get nowhere with him. File the complaint with the board.

So fellows, here I am.....but I am done done done...no more taking the car back. It will be replaced, if this board does not satisfy my request, then off to an attorney and I will find one locally I hope.

Am also enclosing with all my paper work my $2700.00 bill for my 20" tires and beautiful chrome rims.....

They said they once again repl the exp valve, , valve A/C evaporator, A/C dehyd & recov tank assy, sys flushing solvent, refrigerant, compressor oil, compressor assy, there is more but all in all it DID NOT WORK.

So now the wait, right? Good Luck DN37, curious where did you send your paperwork to? I think I am confused what I have read here, you may have posted that already.. Sorry, long day.
