You've been unable to narrow down a spark issue, I'd be looking at lean condition. Does the idle go up if you lightly cup your hands over the top of the carb with the engine running?
I think Bobby's on to something here. If I remember right once in another thread you mentioned either #7 or #8' spark plug looked brand new. Like it had never been ran. You've mentioned using 2 carbs. But we've never asked what jets you have in there. I'll bet Bobby's right. A lean miss. Either stick the 4v on there you want or I'll let you borrow my extra Holley 2v Super Deuce. Right now there are 71 jets in it. I guarantee you won't have a lean miss with it!
Here's another thought to suggest mechanical problems. A buddy of mine and I put the top end on his chebbie and after adjusting the valve lash per the Chilton manual it had a dead miss we spent an hour or two researching we found out that the Chilton manual wasn't exactly right so we re adjusted the valve lash upon our research and guess what no more dead miss
Also how did you adjust the valves? Did you let it run then tightend down the rockers till the lifters stopped ticking or did you torque them all to a specific torque number. Did you adjust them with out it running on the compression stroke first?

For these engines a .060" shorter push rod (color coded white) or a .060" longer push rod (color coded yellow) are available for service to provide a means of compensating for dimensional changes in the valve mechanism.
To check the clearence, bring the piston of the cylinder being checked on top dead center of the compression stroke. Then with hydraulic lifter collapsed, check the clearance between valve stem and rocker arm. If the clearance is less than the minimum listed in the specifications the .060" shorter push rod should be used. If the clearance is more than the maximum specified the .060" longer push rod should be used

I think the hydraulic lifters have a .050" tolerance. Part of cylinder head assembly by a reputable machine shop requires spring height installed measurement. On a head with pedestal mount rockers, spring height measurements exceeding the specified tolerances are adjusted by machining the valve stem tips.
Well the specified measure.end is 1 13/16 he may way to gave vc off to make sure. This information came from a 1975 auto repair manual trade edition. Pages 1-364 and pages 1-382
You can also machine the pedestals, install studs & guide plates and run adjustable rockers. Other than that, machine shops rebuild pedestal-mount heads within factory tolerances so that you do not need to worry about measuring and installing different length pushrods.
As someone already stated, the compression numbers are not indicative of a tight valve.
The problem is fuel has been fuel out fire has been ruled out he never replied to my question about blow by on cylinder 8 because chromiloy rings some times don't seat right. There is no logical explanitaion other than valves ain't right or the rings haven't set right or the compression reading was of
