Why a coolant filter can damage your engine?

Is that the ELC stuff?
I plan to change my fluid out and consume it every few weeks so I'll have to go with the cheaper stuff.

It just dawned on me....ever since I installed my coolant filter. ...my coolant temperature has dropped. I think the filter is filtering heat out of my coolant.

I do. My temp will only drop to 188* when I'm coasting a long way, or when it's parked, it can get a lot lower.
I have nothing to compare. I got the SGII about the same time I got the filter, so I don't know what the temps were like prior.
Maybe I should get a "coozie" for the filter!

Funny you should mention the coozie, Sinister sent me one with my filter kit! It's blue and says " I own a 6.0 I deserve this" LMAO. I thought is was for beer, I didn't know it went on the filter. It's all clear to me now!

I put Christmas lights around mine, it's festive and the incandescent bulbs get pretty hot.

Could even have a velcro strap to go over the top of housing to make sure it stays secure. High fan speed from the excessive heat build up when you forget to remove it for summer, might blow it off.
