master power window switch buzzing

With the window stopped half way down. I press the button to lower or raise the window and the window doesn't move. There is a buzzing noise coming from under the button, as long as I keep the button pressed. It only does it a times a month, beside that window works ok. I replaced the door master power window switch and it does the same thing. I think it must be something to do with the power window motor ??? What do you think?

Thanks

Buzzing, like an electrical arc in the switch? DC usually makes a sharp crackling sound more than a buzz.

You sure it ain't the motor buzzing? Perhaps it needs new brushes (if their even serviceable).

tried two switches, both did the same

Thanks, I'm 100% sure it's not the power window motor, I have opened everything up. When I can get it to buzz, which is very load. Like a hornet next to your ear. As long as I hold the power button down it will buzz. Then the window stops moving. Drivers door only, both power window motors was replace with after market ones. I held both old and new master power window switch up to my ear and it's buzzing right under the buttons. It's almost likes it's trying to push the power window up or down but it can't. Then I let go the button and then try again and all is good. It does it a (few) times a month. Do you think it can be caused by the cheaper power door motor. I found a complete OEM power window motor at a junk yard, I don't want to have a window stuck down when it's starts to rain. Duck tape and clear plastic on hand. I bet I confused you, that's what happens with adding all the details.

I'd have to see an electrical schematic, but if you've already changed the switch then I'd say take a look at the motor, keeping in mind that just because it's a NEW switch, doesn't necessarily mean it's GOOD. New parts can be bad too. Do you have an ammeter that can handle maybe ~20A? If so, what kinda draw are you seeing at the motor? Compare it with the window that works and see what the difference is.

Does it do it on both sides? which brand replacement did you get?. I might try to remove the door panel and clean/lube everything inside. It might be getting stuck because of that.

power window motor and controler buzzer when using

Tried another window door motor today same buzzing sound from master control door switch and window motor. Only as long as you keep your finger on the button. it only makes noise on drivers side, with only that up/ down button. It only makes noise for the second that I touch the button to move the window up or down. While my finger is on the up/down power window button the window won't move. Window is not binding, lubed 6 months ago.

Thanks
Still need to need to do? "Use a ammeter that can handle maybe ~20A? See what kinda draw are you seeing at the motor? Compare it with the window that works and see what the difference is."

One guess is that you might have a bad electrical connection at your switch. Take a look at the contacts, especially in the wiring harness, and make sure they are clean and dry. (You say it did the same thing with two different switches, but you probably plugged both switches into the same harness connector.) I also like to put dielectric grease on electrical connections that can get damp. It won't fix a problem that already exists, but it can keep one from happening.
