I went from a D-link to a Linksys. It was the temp router that caused the
problem. I was using my computer to do the routing work and for some
reason one of the nic ports would not let go of the DHCP setting that the
cable box had set and it took a little digging to find why. I found it buried
in the advanced settings. Funny I had removed that in the basic settings.
Once that was cleared all was good. BTW I don't use wireless unless I have to.
The two things I have to have on wireless are so locked down.........

We have a number of things that use wireless. Our cell phones use it for some stuff, and laptops.

If I can put a wire to it I will every time.
You get so much more bandwidth and less
worry about people like ****** getting in
the back door.

We have both routers locked pretty well and my own devices run off Ethernet cable. I gave my little sister my old laptop when I got my pc. it is faster using a cable vs wireless.

Yeah it's really bothering me. If he was closer I'd have no issue just driving out to him. But I'm not really in the mood to drive to Bellingham oh well. I found a decent looking Baja (think I mentioned it) and I have a potential buyer for my truck. So we'll see what happens.

Looks like another flake on the rims. Someone texted me asking if I still had them then said they would call later. No call, oh well.

Not at all my friend, I am actually enjoying the terrible weather. Watching all the crap on the back porch fly around and hearing the thunder rattle the house. It's been a cool day IMO. I've just been busy doing absolutely nothing... And I just spammed a bunch of pictures to the picture thread for this chapter that I totally forgot we had.

not too much going on over here, just working and stuff. did a little diagnosis on the van tonight because i wasn't hearing enough clatter, and because i felt like my brake booster wasn't doing its job well enough. found a few return line leaks, proper timing, and enough vacuum pressure for the brake booster but weird - i'll start a new thread on that in a few minutes.

Josh, did you figure out the issues with your van?

I might be starting to help out a norwegian friend of ours, he is big into cars but parts over there so he has asked me to purchase a few parts and ship them over too him. He would then compensate me for the cost and toss a little extra onto what I paid. I just sent him some skiing movies (unrelated) and the shipping was quite expensive so I can't imagine what parts will run.

well i found out a few things about it last night. timing hasn't changed a bit since i put the engine together, so thats good, i guess i'm just not noticing the clatter cause i'm so used to it. but i did notice 3 fuel leaks from different return lines, so i'll try to get into those in the next week or two. the vacuum thing is still somewhat uncertain, takes 25 seconds to build the system up to 21" of vacuum, pressing the brake drops the vacuum reading by 3-5", and releasing the brake drops it by 6", which means that any significant on-off braking means i quickly have almost no vacuum to the booster. haven't yet figured out if the problem is with the booster or the vacuum pump, thats my next step

and my other next step is installing a real cupholder in the van

well, i'm a terrible mechanic. i went outside with the intent of either fixing some of the fuel leaks, or installing the cupholder. well, fuel leaks can wait, i now have a proper place to set my coffee while driving. https://www.dropbox.com/s/cang3zs6vf...2000.22.48.jpg
and yes, that cupholder is made of a piece of 3" PVC pipe, its the perfect size

Josh what ever it takes to not end up like the Lady at McDs and
her how coffee burns. I don;t think the $$ from that would pay
for the pain of getting burnt THERE.
