I definitely took advantage. Me and my friends went on a long hike yesterday up at a place called Tiger Mountain. Great hiking up there. Shoot we must have gone 8 miles or more, today is all about relaxing and recuperating. hehe.

Did you see any cougars of the four legged type or just the two legged type ?
On the plus side, I have the engine in my 79 almost ready for removal. Just have to get myself a engine hoist first...
did you ever see pics on here of what i did for an engine hoist? here, take a look https://www.dropbox.com/s/m0ngtp82y0...2013.02.06.jpg and remember it when you consider how much of a fight you have with the dinky little 3" wheels on your average cherry-picker
Tiger is nice, ya come in from the hwy 18 or I-90 side?
It's very nice, the scenery is great. We took 18 cause it was closer. We met up at a friends house right on the border of Black Diamond then we all jumped in his car and rode up there.

Sean
None of the 4 legged but there was a few 2 And a ton of bicyclists through there too... I don't know how they can ride up all those steep hills but I want to try it some day.
Finally got around to putting my rims on CL. I got a out and cleaned them a little and made my case. Hopefully someone bites and takes them. Need some rims for your Ford truck?
well, tonight found me upgrading one of the toolboxes in my van - the top forward left one that didn't match, has now been replaced with a black one of the same series as the others. it means more use-able space plus the ability to have more storage on top of it instead of that annoying lid that had to be able to open. i'm still figuring out the most efficient thing to have on top of it, possibly more open bins like the top row further back, or maybe something else will grab my attention, i don't know yet.
and in the morning i get to tear apart a certain BMW for the third time, and gonna make good and damn sure the clutch is gonna work before i put it back together!
Josh nice hoist. At-least you know that it won't get stuck when
you try to move it off the driveway like the steel wheels do.
AND if it does get stuck then you really should not be working in
that deep of mud.
Sean the bug is coming along nicely, today I plan to head up into the Milton area to visit the Ovals VW store and get some prices. I need a Speedo cable and I need to look for a fuel gauge rebuild kit OR price up a new gauge. It appears that the needle for mine is gone. I've read that they are fragile and just clip onto the armature so it may have broken off or came unclipped. I haven't pulled it apart yet to see if it happens to be laying at the bottom but I figured I'd get some prices first. Also I ordered new seat belts off eBay. It was $50 unfortunately but they should work much better than the stock ones.
Josh, do you have any ideas on why the clutch wasn't working on the BMW?
I have been spending the day working on the 71 monte carlo my dad is giving me. At his shop. Visiting him for awhile. Its been fun.glad all r getting sun. Thank for the hello grusome

well yes, i finally do have a very solid idea of why it wasn't working right. the clutch disk has no markings at all to indicate its proper orientation, can easily be installed either way, but will be unable to release when installed backwards. i tore it all back apart today and identified that it was backwards. the chiltons book showed this pic which guided me to install it in the wrong orientation, though in reality the "small diameter" side was actually stepped diameter, with the larger diameter identical to the other side, dropping down to a smaller diameter. the only other suitable image chiltons had was this one which also suggests this wrong orientation.
having taken it back apart and inspected the rotating assembly, i had an oh-s**t moment when i saw this https://www.dropbox.com/s/43af60x5m4...2014.25.49.jpg and realized the pressure plate was sitting fully compressed without the throwout bearing anywhere near it. the clutch disk hub was a little scratched up, but not deep https://www.dropbox.com/s/zem3vsj7zw...2014.45.10.jpg so i'm able to re-use it. i have confidence this time around.
