Got Justin's ferret(stupid easy to use BTW) and timing light today and checked the timing. timing is at 8* BTDC @2K rpm(not bad for doing it by ear lol). Justin's gonna get another IP on it's way to me.
As far as the e-fuel goes........happy with it, strongly thinking about going to a couple of frame mounted fuel filters though i getting rid of the factory filter and filter head. tired of it seeping fuel.
Sorry again Eric, I wish I had some sort of frosting to put on the issue, but it is what it is, That's the problem with having to use refurbished parts... Best I can do is send you a new pump, and make it right... Only thing I could do better is to have my own stand.
Well get your setup working great, and that's what I am after...
I fully understand the frustration with the truck. I bought my 92 Lexus as a daily driver to preserve my truck. I went into this being informed that these cars are super reliable, just as the IDI. 2 years have ownership have had me pulling my hair out like crazy....constant problems, terrible MPG(my F350 5.8 does better, FYI). I keep threatening to sell it, but for some reason it never happens. Maybe the right DD will come along.
Still absolutely no better than before. I really don't even know what to say right now. i'm just so pissed about this whole thing. i dropped nearly a grand in a fuel system and and it is no better than the leaking, un-known miles IP and original lift pump that was on the truck when i got it.
same numbers as before as far as egt's and boost. I think something is wrong with my turbo though as well. as a good amount of side to side play. no in/out though. when i rev it with the intake tube off i can hear a little "chirp" noise coming from the turbo. So nearly $1,500 in air/fuel mods down the drain.
Don't even get me started on that royal POS they call an E4OD, who ever designed that should be castrated with a dull spoon and the shot in the head three days later. let him suffer for a while. my current shift strategy. take off, shifts into second, i mash on it right once it hits 2nd, it shifts straight to third and locks the converter....what the ***** is that???????????????
This IP does feel stronger down low than the other one, but that may be b/c this one started life as an N/A pump unlike the last one. this just has no ***** up top, just falls on it's face.
oh yeah, i should mention that i now have to put up with 900 rpm being the lowest i can get for hot idle.....
Can barely break the rear tires loose on a dirt road when putting the pedal threw the floor from a dead stop.....
I wish i would have gotten out of this thing when i had the chance.
i get to deal with 950-1,000 rpm hot idle speeds now.......yah me
Justin, does your "rebuilder" test these things out before they get sent out or does he just clean them up and put new paint on the screws? This is rediculus, i have the throttle arm resting on the pump body and i still have the above idle speeds. the first pump was better than this POS.
shoulda gone with a moose pump, yeah they might not be known for power but at least they *****ing work right..not happy about this experience to say the least...
Idk what i'm gonna do for a pump when this hunk dies, highly doubt it is gonna last any amount of time. Don't have the money to keep throwing IP's on this thing and hoping i get a good one.
I've been pretty quiet until now, but your whining, complaining, and saying you should of just gone moose is getting old. If it was up to me I never would of thrown another pump at you, or even sold you a pump. Everything you have put together has been drama filled and problematic. I applaud Racin' for giving you so much help, kudos to him. But I have no stake in this, just an outside view. You are the common denominator.
None of this is characteristics of a bad pump, and nobody has ever got a bad pump.... You said you have the exact same fuel system as me, but you drop 2-3psi under load..... that clearly tells me you have a feed issue. I'm pumping out 2.5x the amount of fuel as you on the top end and my gauge doesn't even move .5psi.
There is so much wrong with your lift pump system in the pictures that could cause these issues that its not even funny.
then do explain how flawed my system is please. i'm all ears, trust me.
Is my regulator the restriction? is it the factory fuel filter head? is it how my return off the regulator is run(i know you've never liked that from the start)?
Why wouldn't you have sold me a pump to begin with?
decided that i am gonna get a new mechanical lift pump, bypass the e-pump with a chunk of hose, and return my return lines back to stock. that will give me a stock/factory supply and return system with a new IP, will see what happens.
