E-Fuel Conversion and New IP!

IP is done as is lift pump(leaking). E-fuel conversion and R&D IDI Performance 90cc IP time!

I am going with a new OEM lift pump found on the '98-'03 7.3L superdutys. I ordered it from Strictly Diesel

Nice work there Eric, looks good!

Your engine is too clean though, I can spare some grease, grime, and grit if you need any.

LOL. thanks Niles!

Just the top end is clean, which it better be since i just did head gaskets last fall. the block is dirty. really not much oil and grime on it though.

I still need to finish routing the return line off the regulator, install the wiring harness(that was worth the $55 btw, very nice, even the wires are labeled and they used a bigger gauge wire for the power wire to the fuel pump!), install the fuel pressure gauge, then wait for my lift pump and IP.

weather is starting to get warm enough were i can paint my intake tube and also slap in the R&D IDI sticker for some more POWA!!! pretty sure i got at least 100whp worth of summit racing stickers as well lol

Looks good man, what kind of pressure should you see from the new lift pump? I know the factory ones are usually like 4 to 6 or something like that

Where are you going to route the return from the regulator into the return line?

Don't hold me to this but i think the new lift pump will be in the neighborhood of 60psi.

I got this guy from the junkyard yesterday...

the factory turbo version of this thing has two barbs on it rather than the three that the n/a trucks have.

you're going to blow the seals out of your return line caps, and have wacky timing issues with the backpressure.

you need a dedicated return with that pump.

You are gonna LOVE that ip! Makes a big difference when you get the spot on the timing. Sure that e-pump will be nice priming her up too. I still have the mechanical pump, but made it through mine. I had one of those duh moments after a got my ip installed. We use a small lawnmower gas tank on tractors when we clean the tanks. Why couldn't you use a small tank of diesel, strap it up high, and gravity bleed the ip?

for a dedicated return line from the regulator i would run it all the way back to your primary filter. so what i am planning on doing from the ftsv is mount a primary fuel filter/water separator that has two in and out ports on both sides of the housing. one input will be from the ftsv or supply, to the electric pump. continue to run that all the way from the pump, to the stock fuel filter, to the regulator, to the ip like you are, but use the other input port of the filter housing for your deicated return from the regulator. i think this will provide a constant supply of fuel no matter what, without blowing all the seals and messing with the timing by running it through the stock return system.
