Oh wow

So USArmyTaterness, I clicked in your link at the bottom of your comment and started reading about all kinds of electrical things I know nothing about. Hope you don't mind me putting it in here. It is what this thread is all about. And would be a shame without a link at least to it. But if you want me to remove it I will.
Joe

If you're looking for a source for factory color coded wiring here are two good sources.
Both can furnish color coded wire with the correct trace colors in bulk lengths.
They also have all kinds of terminals and other parts.

Got the new harness today for my 79, got it home and took a look at it and kinda threw it in truck, it looks to be fairly straight forward almost every wire under the dash has the plugs wired in and everything looks great in the dash area wires going to the engine compartment almost all need the ends put on and cut to length but looks fairly easy to do everything is marked really well, the wires to the rear of the truck need to be cut to to length and plugs installed, all wire groupings need wire loom or taping to protect the wires. The kit seems to have good instructions and also includes dimmer, wiper, light switches door jam buttons hood light glove box lights and other misc parts, all in all looks to be a very good harness and based of first impressions I would recommend it! I have pictures I could email if someone wants to see or wants to post, I can't seem to figure out how to get them on here!

So I was wondering if you would know how to wire up a fuel selector switch?
Sorry this took me a few days to get to. I have been out of town. Anyway, in the picture below, the red one goes to the fuse panel, the orange one to the gauges, and the brown, green, and blue ones all go through the firewall and into plugs right outside it. These plugs are right near the ignition module plugs. The one connector is green.

I would really like to see some pictures! It would be cool to see a modern, direct replacement in a vehicle

is there any other way to save access to this or other threads w/o bumping and getting email notifications and saving there, ie is that "subscribing"?

To "subscribe" you click "thread tools" at the top of the page (still in the thread, not the FTE top of the page) As far as email notifications, I think that has to do with settings in your "User CP" which is more near the top of the FTE page.
