Ok little update here. Been working on the HVAC system. Picked up some of this. Great stuff for bonding plastic together, creates a pretty darn strong bond. Good for up to 400 degrees i believe. Liquid Nails 950.
I needed to attached adapters to the floor heat and defrost so that the 2.5" flexible heater hose that came with the Nostalgic AC kit could connect to them. Floor heater duct from an 87-95 Jeep Wrangler.
notched it so it would sit more flush.
Didn't get a pic of it with the LN on it, but here's the defrost duct with the adapter on it:
Headed out of town next week. Weather's been nice, so I've been working on projects around the house. Hopping to get some more progress when I get back in town.
Looking good. How is the NAP AC install going so far? Can you give me any pics of where the 2 water hoses punch through the firewall? Is the location these come through at flexible at all?
I'm thinking I'll go with the NAP AC but if these hoses aren't flexible in where they punch through I may not be able to as my exhaust will run right here.

I should be running the AC and Heater hoses soon. You do have some flexibility as to where the HVAC box is mounted. I'll get some pics as soon as I start working on that again. Do you have pictures of your exhaust near the firewall?
Chase, thanks for the exhaust pics. I may have to run mine between the frame and tranny, because of my exhaust brake, but we'll see. I still haven't got to the AC lines, but I'll post pics as soon as I run them.
I've been traveling alot for work, so I apologize for the delay in updates.
Got the clutch done. I had Aaron over at Brucker Brothers make me a bracket for the clutch MC. Turned out great! I had to make a custom bracket for the clutch pedal to hook up to the MC:
I also made a support coming off to the left of the pedal assembly that helps support the firewall when you push in the clutch. The firewall was moving a little because of the moment produced from the clutch pedal. It takes an impressive amount of force to push the clutch MC. The pedal force isn't too bad though. It's not as easy as K-car, but very manageable.
Got the tappet cover finished and mounted:
I used this stuff for a gasket material. Pretty good. Sets up pretty quick. The real test obviously will be if it leaks.
I also cut a notch in the cross member for more clearance for the AC compressor:
Thats about where I'm at. Things should start coming together a little faster now. Going to start on fuel and oil lines, finishing putting together the motor, then mock up the front clip so I can start wiring, radiator, intercooler, etc.
So not too much done lately. I've been working on my oil feed lines for the turbo, p-pump, and steering pump. I think I got those figured out now. Using AN fittings where possible. Why? Because they're bling, and I've always wanted to.
My brother lost a bet we had, so he'll be painting my fenders here shortly. More progress to come. Going to work on getting the front clip together.
Wow! 2 1/2 months since I last posted. Sorry to make you guys wait. It has been a fantastic fall here in Colorado, and had to spend my weekend time having fun in the mountains.
So with the nice fall weather (70 degrees just 2 weeks ago), mother nature decided to send us negative temperatures last week. My 60K BTU propane heater is worth every penny
I got the shifters done. The tranny was easy, just bent some 5/8 rod to my liking and welded it in place. The T-Case was a little more tricky.
I used some blacksmithing skills. Heated the rod with a torch, and used a hammer to pound the rod flat.
Then welded a piece of 1/4" plate, and drilled a 1/2" hole. Did this for the bottom part too. The bottom hole is for the connection to the transfer case. The other is for the pivot.
For the shifter handle mount, I rounded down a bolt and welded it to the top of the shifter handle.
Shifters side by side. When the shifter is all the way forward, the t-case is in 2WD Hi.
When i went to bolt the leaf springs up, I found out that the shackle hangers were off by about 3 degrees. This was caused by the frame being "twisted" where the shackle hangers are. With all the work I did on the front end of the frame, it must have affected the shackle hangers.
So to fix this, I had Aaron over at Brucker Brothers make me some custom shackle hangers.
Notice the angles.
Got the old ones off, and welded the new ones on. They line up perfect, and are level and parallel.
2 steps forward and 1 step back. But making progress nonetheless.
Working on the shifter cover. Some nice sheet metal work happening . Hoping to have the shifter cover done by the end of the week. More updates to follow soon!
Been making some small progress lately. Lots of little details to work on. Had my buddy Aaron at Brucker Brothers make me some threaded adapters for the throttle linkage bracket on the P pump. The industrial P pumps come with a different throttle setup than the pickups do. Since I wanted to use the pickup-style throttle assm, had to get these adapters made. They are M16 x 1.5 to M8 x 1.25. I couldn't find these adapters anywhere, so had to get them made. Used a grade 8 bolt and Aaron drilled and tapped the threads on a lathe. Came out very nice!
Threaded them in with a bunch of red Loctite.
Also got my power steering cooler mounted up. just used some tube clamps and threaded the cross member for the mounting holes.
Ordered my exhaust tubing, should be in this week! Hoping to have the exhaust finished by the end of the year. I have lots of vacation leftover this year, so I should be making some good progress in the coming weeks.
