Those first two photos up the Susitna? Look glacier-fed.

I saw something this evening that gave me a scare...

We were cashing in our tickets (Golf 'n Stuff) and ended up with an even 400. Just had to have 10 of those green plastic army men (well, now they're white and look like zombies from pirates of the Caribbean), anyway they cost 10 each (you see where I'm goin' here)... The young gal pulls out the calculator and types in 400 - 10 = 390; -10 = 380; -10 = 370; -10 = 360... I start to twitch at 340, shaking at 320, and suppress a face palm when she pulls in at 300. Really a nice young gal , but not so good with them thar times tables.

Catch and release only in most of the rivers right now. It's a bit early and the fish counts are real low.
The only fish you can keep are sockeyes and there are very few of them also.
We managed to limit out one day.
Also gots lots of halibut and cod off of Seward. Came back with about thirty pounds of filets. If we were able to keep the fish it would have been much more.
At least the fish gods are happy with us.

Actually backwards. The first two are in the middle Kenai and the last is on the Talachulitna river that feeds into the Kwentna which feeds into the Susitna.
The Tal river comes from a lake and feeds the Kwentna which is a milky white river fed off the bottom of a glacier.
That king is one of the most beautiful fish I've seen. Love the rouge color. Soon he'll be very red.
Caught a big king in the morning on the Kenai and he was chrome, right out of the ocean.
Also the rainbows on that river are gorgeous.

My ex and I went to the harbor arcade before she left for Utah. Same thing happened. And I felt the same way. He was subtracting 2, and 5 and 10 from 50.

Morning SoCal!

I flew home yesterday...landed in Fort Wayne about 3pm to 90°!!!...had to pick up the camper which is in a barn close to the airport...got her home (a couple of minor glitches that I worked out)...so I won't be back in your area until August 6th or 12th...VACATION TIME!!!...WOOHOO!!!

So the TT and Ex are all packed and ready to head out on our near 3 week RV trek through Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, South Dakota and back to Minnesota, Wisconsin on the way home...

Tonight we'll spend the night in Oakdale Wisconsin (God willing getting through Chi-Town!)

Tomorrow well spend 6, 7, 8 hours in the Mall of America (God HELP me with 2 teenage girls and the wife...LOL)...

Sunday we'll make Teddy Roosevelt NP in Medora ND for a few nights there...

Hope everyone has a great Friday!...I'll check in as we travel...we should have wifi everywhere except probably Yellowstone...

Joe.

Anybody got any information on the 2012 proposed bill to enact the 30 year rolling smog exempt law for CA? (That will make 1981-Back vehicles smog exempt, which would be a dream come true...

For details, see SEMA’s message below.

California Introduces Bill to Exempt pre-1981 Vehicles From Emissions Inspection Requirement

In 2004, legislation was enacted to repeal California’s rolling emissions-test exemption for vehicles 30 years old and older and replace it with a law requiring the lifetime testing of all 1976 and newer model-year vehicles. This year, a bill has been introduced in the California Senate (S.B. 1224) by Senator Doug LaMalfa (Senator.LaMalfa@senate.ca.gov ) to exempt all motor vehicles prior to the 1981 model year from the emissions inspection requirement. The bill will be considered in the Senate Transportation and Housing Committee on March 27, 2012.

We Urge You to Contact All Members of the Senate Transportation and Housing Committee (Contact Info Below) Immediately To Request Their Support for S.B. 1224

S.B. 1224 recognizes the minimal impact of pre-1981 vehicles on emissions and air quality.
S.B. 1224 acknowledges that pre-1981 vehicles still constitute a minuscule portion of the overall vehicle population and are a poor source from which to look for emissions reduction.
S.B. 1224 endorses the fact that pre-1981 vehicles are overwhelmingly well-maintained and infrequently driven (a fraction of the miles each year as a new vehicle).
For years, legislators, regulators and stationary source polluters have felt the heat from failed efforts to meet air quality goals and have looked to older cars as a convenient scapegoat, using false data and inflated annual mileage assumptions to further their case. S.B. 1224 helps validate the truth. The old car hobby should not continue to carry the burden of past mistakes!
DON’T DELAY! Please contact members of the California Senate Transportation and Housing Committee immediately to request their support of S.B. 1224. Please e-mail a copy of your letter to Steve McDonald at stevem@sema.org. Also, please forward this Alert to your fellow car enthusiasts. Urge them to join the SAN and help defend the hobby! Thank you for your assistance.

Beautiful fish, Marc. I'll bet that was a nice trip.

FTE reception is a little spotty this morning. I've got the antenna all the way up, turned the box until I found the strongest signal. Still swinging the antenna try to find the sweet spot.

Rained pretty decent here last night, for an hour or maybe a little more. I'm supposed to be painting house trim today, but I don't know if it will be dry enough. Don't want to slap primer on wet wood.

I'm doing a ctrl-C on this before I hit Submit Reply. Don't want to loose this little gem.
