Bondo? Where, on that fascia you were talking about painting a while back?

Yes, but today it is termite damage around a window. I'm painting trim, but only where needed.

The "bondo" is a polyester wood filler, but I'm pretty sure it is exactly the same as body filler. Smells the same, same 2 part mix.

Today was kind of interesting. I had spoke with the manager of Black Angus via email a few days ago and today he called me. He needed his old appliances hauled away. Among them, was a safe. No problem though.

I have been charged with violating CVC 22406(A), which states:

I believe the officer lied to me (nothing wrong with that. I dont care) when he told me he got me on radar. Based on what he told me of where he was, he couldnt have. I think he paced me, and if so, he has insufficient evidence against me to prove I was exceeding the speed limit.

I hope.

So I filed for trial by deceleration, and served the DA's office with a Discovery Request. According to the online docket system my request was received and hopefully will be honored. If not my statement will have a very sneaky phrase in it that may force a dismissal . My trial date has also been extended by 28 days to allow me to prepare my case, not by my request, this appears to have happened when I served the Discovery Request. Hopefully I'll win.

I'm not fighting it to just fight it and work the system. The officer wrote the ticket for 70mph, with the limit obviously being 55mph since I was towing. But I KNOW I was not doing 70mph. This is where the radar lie comes into play. I only caught his attention because I was in the #1 lane. What he doesnt know is I had moved over to allow merging traffic to safely enter the freeway. In his eye I understand what he saw, I am just out to tell my side and show I wasnt being the dick towing in the #1 lane. Oh, and for those who are wondering? Bail is set at $480

Good luck, but unless he doesn't show up in court you're probably toast.

Yeah, you're not allowed to go 70, even if you are passing. I know we all do it, but you are required to pass at no more than the speed limit. Towing or not.

Depending on how many lanes there were, I'm not sure you are allowed to be in the #1 lane. It is courteous to do that, but you should have slowed down if you wanted to make space for a merging vehicle. If there were more than 2 lanes, you're not allowed in #1 unless it is to merge out to another road on the left. When towing, of course.

So I tore into that window yesterday, and the plaster mold was in such bad shape, had been patched time after time, that I decided to pull it all off and replace. Get to HD and they don't have a plaster mold profile even close to that. And in Redwood? Forget it.

Ended up having to mill my own. Managed to get it in there with only a couple of breakouts of the plaster. Today I will stucco patch those, finish caulking, and maybe get a coat of primer on it.

Admit it, Bill...you loved every minute of making your own

That finger joint stucco molding that HD sells sucks.

I would have gladly paid good money to NOT have to do it.

Is there a local source for matching old profiles? I know there are molding specialty shops around, but I'm not sure they would have that stuff.

That's closer than the primed pine crap at HD. This stuff is 1-5/8 x 1". It might work, depending on where the dimension is different. I could live with less tongue under the stucco, but I needed all the face width I could get to meet the casement all around.

This window is the old casement, with a new vinyl window insert. We've got a mix of those, and some where they installed a vinyl new-work window. Fortunately every window we have is new within 10 years.

Finally got most of our supplies together to start tying some flies. Here's a couple I tied last night and today. They are both Elk Hair Emergers, dry flies that your fish on top of the water. The first one is a #12 hook, the second is a #18 hook. The #18 hook is shorter in length than the diameter of a dime.
