Some great looking rigs in those pics 
I'm Oregon bound tomorrow morning, gonna race this Saturday: NHRDA - National Hot Rod Diesel Association - NHRDA The laptop is staying home with Gail since our desktop isn't fixed yet, and since I still haven't found an easy way to post on FTE with my phone I won't be online 'til Monday.
On the subject of our desktop, we (finally) had a friend come over and check it out and it's definitely got cooties. On his recommendation it was decided to nuke everything and do a clean install of Windows 7, which I ordered from Newegg along with 2gb of ram, so I should be back up and running on it next week sometime. Goodbye Vista, I hardly knew you.

Actually, Wacker, is a brand name that's now used as the generic term. Sorta' like Kleenex is used for tissues.

If someone calls it a "jumping jack", you'll also know what they're talking about.
"Soil compactor" is probably the most correct term for it.

Take-offs from new trucks are probably OK. There are those that buy a new truck and immediately get custom tires and rims for it. The downside is that there usually isn't much of a discount for them.
As far as USED tires goes, sometimes there's a reason they were removed. How would you know of any problems?

Look at the date codes to be sure they're not too old, look for dry rot on the sidewalls, etc....caveat emptor. What you spend on used ones puts you that much further away from new ones

And if money is an issue, highway tires are cheaper than traction tires. They last longer too.
