How is everyone's weekend thus far? Hopefully great!
Well, yesterday I finally replaced the butyl seal on my rear window glass on my F150. What a mess! Ended up taking me 5 frickin' hours to do it!
The longest part of it all was cleaning the old seal off of the pinch weld on the body and the plastic window frame. OMG, that stuff is a mess and sticks to you (and everything else) like superglue! I don't think it helped that it was 90+ degrees out yesterday either, so it would string out everywhere when you took it off.
But, I got it done and replaced and tightened down the rear window with the new seal. Soooo, I hope that means I won't have any more rear leaking window (no slider). About a year and a half ago I found out the rear side windows were leaking a ton of water onto the rear seat/floor area when I first got the truck. So, I ended up replacing the seal around both of those windows and it was fine, but when you would drive it through rain, the rear upper seat would still get wet. So, I figured the rear window was leaking a bit, but no where near as bad as the side windows were. Soooo, it was about time to get it done.
I'm still paranoid about doing a water test on it, since I'm not sure how "fast" the butyl seal sets after you bolt it down. I think it's instant, but I guess I'll just wait till it rains and see how it does.
Have a Super Saturday & may it be a safe & productive one!
Well, I finally got some decent sleep lastnight after having a hectic few days. We're normally down for the night by 8pm, but since Weds., I haven't gotten to bed before 10 pm.! Weds - quality time w/ Jimmy, Thurs. - Cammy & I took Athena to E.R. for a possible ear infection & rash (hives) & didn't get home till 11:45pm., & Fri. Jimmy & I went to a friends going away party at a local bar & didn't get home until almost 11pm. I had to drive, so I had 7up which was probably a good thing, cause I was so tired by the time we left that I could hardly see straight! I can only imagine if I had had a drink or two, I really wouldn't have been able to drive home. Especially having night blindness..oncoming headlights & florecent lights were playing hell with my eyes. I felt like I was all over the place trying to keep it in my lane everytime I got blinded by them. Thank God I thought to bring my sunglasses, cause they came in handy. LOL!
Well, there's my update for today. Have a great day everyone!
The new pup has settled in nicely. Today she will meet the inlaws dogs, they should be here any time now. Those dogs are good friends with Romeo, but they are pretty crazy.
Just helped my neighbor load his '33 Ford pickup [no motor] onto a car trailer. Had to use a comealong to pull it up after we were unable to push it on board. My back is aching now.
Anyway it is a beautiful spring day. Have a good one.
I have not been around because my truck wasn't running, it's because I no longer have a job that requires me to sit in front of a computer.
So another race day that didn't happen, we just can't seem to get the out of town cars to come down here (even though we go there) and there aren't enough of our class here to make a race. So, off to Elko next weekend, if anyone is out that direction.
Awesome spring weather, think I will head out to the lake tomorrow for some vitamin D and B lol.
